I joined Jasta 15 in Jan. 1916. On one mission, Udet, myself, and another pilot are flying support of one of our own airfields. I see a Nieuport 10 coming toward us. From reading another post concerning fighting a Nieuport in an Eindecker, it was best to get away. So, I bank away and head for home. Feeling bad, (I can't just leave), I turn back toward the fight. All three are circling each other, and all of a sudden, the Nie. breaks off and jumps me. Udet and this other pilot are just flying around watching; like it I'm putting on a show on how not to fight a Nieuport. I'm thinking a little help would be nice but, it doesn't come and I get shot down.
I go to The Aerodrome website, and find that Udet doesn't get his first kill until Mar. 18, 1916. His second comes on Oct. 12. Now, does that mean that if I fly with Udet, or any (HA) pilot, on a date in which they didn't get a kill, I'm just om my own?
Thanks.

I actually like my HA's and wouldn't want them to depart this mortal coil ahead of their time, but I do want to teach them a lesson in taking better care of their virtual lives. Currently, after riding a ball of flame to crash into the ground (typically due to their own stupid mistake), they get up, dust off their perfectly ironed uniform and hop into next available plane as if nothing ever happened. If possible, I would like them to spend a few days in hospital to reflect on their bad behavior. Can this be made as an option to permanent death?

JJJ65, is it possible to make the "DID for HA" a separate mod? That is something that I've always wanted. I am afraid, BM, it is not possible. I was thinking about it either. It will work only from inside of Mission Editor - it modifies next mission file pilots. But you can just start Mission editor, click "Save" button and that will be enough. Fullofit, this feature will work only for enemy Historical Aces. Crashes and "kills" of squadmate HAs will not count and it is impossible to modify (outside of WOFF UE) their state at this moment. They will be always "In service" until the date of their real death.

It was worth a try. Thanks for the response triple-J.

Thanks. As Hoongadoonga indicated, what happened in real life (i.e. back on historical dates) does not affect how aces act in the game. An historic ace will fly, attack, run away as he sees fit based on how the fight is going at that instant. He has no 'knowledge' of history, and is not programmed to try and replicate historic results.
