I started flying with claims on normal, because i want the whole campaign to be as realistic as possible.
Then there were a few moments like me shooting down an enemy craft right beside my home aerodrome (it crashed into the ground), or me shooting down a bomber (going down from 3k with its wings departing due to overspeed) while my wingman was next to me, and wasn't credited with the kills. Ok i thought, that's not realistic at all.
So i changed it to easy. Last flight i was shooting down an enemy aircraft pretty much over the battlefield, but on the friendly side. It crashed into the ground. A lot of soldiers to witness, and the wreck as proof. I wasn't sure if it was a Nieuport 16 or 17, so i claimed single seater. It got rejected - like already said on easy. I don't know if it just doesn't work for me, but this way it isn't even realistic on easy.
I'd understand if you wouldn't be credited with a kill deep over enemy territory, with no wingmen around to witness. But over friendly territory, with plenty of witnesses..no matter if WW1 or WW2, but in those cases you always got your kill confirmed. Last campaign i ended up with 16 (certain) claims and 3 confirmed - 2 of them balloons. During the real war it was rather the case that pilots got credited with too many kills, then less....
A little demotivating that way..guess i have to try easiest next
Edit: I forgot to mention, that a message appeared after the mission, that i got a claim, and i have to fill in the claim form in order to get the kill acknowledged. Which i did, but it got rejected anyhow. This happened a few times with claim mode "easy". Anytime i wasn't sure which model i shot down i just filled in single/two seater
