I'll be seeing it for sure in the theater. I'm pretty pumped for this.

I'll be very curious to see how Michael Fassbender's character ends up with this new crew since his trip with Shaw when they left the planet in Prometheus.

There are many Davids....same as there were multiple Bishops. It's just a model. But yeah, the one from Prometheus has to appear sometime.
luckily for Scott, the bar was set so low by Prometheus that this one can be certain of being better received, although the trailer almost shows the entire plot and the extra-red blood does not bode well, nor the bathroom scene at the end, this one veers to close to the textbook definition of schlock terror.
Once I watched the Prometheus Paradise Edition it made more sense to me although I was one of the few who really enjoyed the theatrical release.I look forward to this but I think I'll steer clear of any trailers.

IMDB says Fassbender plays Walter and David so it a continuation of Prometheus.

No kidding! Alien did such a great job of turning the crew, space traveling engineers, into blue collar workers. Practically space truckers, and it worked. Part of the brilliance of the movie. Prometheus...bunched up a group of "scientist" a-holes with ADD and no knowledge of scientific experimentation, and for some reason expected us to like them. I liked Noomi Rapace and Fassbender, but that's about it. Luckily they're the ones that got carried on.
from the trailer it does look a bit like what JJ Abrahams did with the force awakens ... Taking all the bits from the first movie and building the new film from them
Dont think of it as being vastly outnumbered ... but just having a large target selection.

Hate to say it but there are lots of brilliant scientist who go brain dead in similar situations despicted in the movie. Vickers just failed to weed them out and take charge of the situation since she's only concerned about getting rid of the old man asap.

Man!... I hate when that happens on trillion dollar space missions to the other side of the galaxy!

Charlize Theron's character was one of the absolute worst written characters I've ever seen in any scifi movie.
1. She can only run in a straight line while trying to avoid a rolling spaceship.
2. Why does she want her father dead? Who knows. It's never really explained.
3. Why hire a bunch of incompetent people if this is a multi-trillion dollar mission?
Was the audience supposed to gasp during that "dramatic" scene where Charlize Theron says "father"? That fell flatter than Linday Lohan's film career.

The trailer didn't really sell the movie that well and I can't believe they are doing the same "alien tail underneath the victim's body" gag again.
Having said that, I'll still be seeing it and will post my review afterwards.
