I am working at getting WOFF working with my VKB Gladiator Pro. So far I have had no luck getting my joystick buttons to work correctly in the sim. I can get them to map correctly in the WOFFKeymap program but when I enter the sim I find that the assignments are all working as if I had left them all at the default configuration, it is completely ignoring the custom assignments. Even if I delete all the assignments, the buttons all still work with their default functions. It will not also see any buttons except the default 8. I can map any button 9 and higher but they are recognized in the sime. This is rather odd and rather frustrating. My only option at this stage is to have the joystick buttons send keypresses. Any ideas?????????

WOFF 3.11
Windows 10.

After re-mapping within WOFF do you save before exiting?

Yep, tried that and the mappings are still there when I open WOFFKeys again. They just are not being recognized in the sim. I also tried deleting the WOFFKeys.xca and having the game recreate and then redoing the custom mapping but it is still not recognizing them.

Yes, it is pretty odd. Some good suggestions but the other thing I should point out is that I have a Warthog Throttle plugged in as well and it maps the buttons for it just fine, just not the VKB Gladiator Pro. Anyone have WOFF working with A VKB Stick?

thanks,

Kevin

Just the stick then. Well there's light at the end of the tunnel.
IIRC Winder was the designer of the nicely done control mapping program and he should be along shortly to help.
FWIW I've used it on 3 or 4 different sticks over the years and no problems.

If you got time on your hands I would still check and try #2 above. I would be curious.

No idea not heard of that controller, but maybe you need to use their software or even don't use it. Some other controllers need their own config software running so Windows (and therefore WOFF see it properly). WOFF uses simple Windows level protocols to listen to devices which is why it's usually less quirky than some controller setup programs.

I bought this sim last night and am having similar isues with my VKB Gladiator and also having issues with my Saitek Throttle Quadrants.

VKB Gladiator issues- Binding the elevators and ailerons is fine. WOFF seems to recognize my stick and all button presses and axis moving. I have unbound all controls, then assigned buttons to Blip, Fire Guns and Unjam onto my stick. Saved. Go into quick combat and test fire. No Go. Press the space bar and guns fire. Press random buttons on my stick base and one of those cause the guns to fire...but not the trigger that I mapped the command to. The button I mapped for Blip also does not work.

Saitek Throttle Quads- Mapped Throttle control to one and mixture controls the other. When I go full throttle my ailerons and elevator also react, pushing my nose down and into a left hand dive. When I reduce throttle my nose climbs and I go into a right hand climb. These are violent and not subtle

I have gone through several times and completely unbound all controls and remapped, but always get the same results. I have also gone and unbound all controls and not remapped to any of my peripherals...same results as above.

Iam not using any exterior software, just mapping through the WOFF tool. Windows recognizes all button presses and axis moving.

Did you also save it? If so go to C:\Users\XXXXXXX\AppData\Roaming\OBD_Games\OBDWW1 Over Flanders Fields and check the WOFFKeys.xca s updated, look inside and make sure the keys you set are there.

Otherwise it sounds like some some software is needed for the device to work properly (for example CH needs the CH manager for some people, some PCs..., ah PCs got to love em ..not)

Yes, I have Saitek Throttle Quads also, they do work great with WOFF. I too found it to be tricky to unmap the default mappings and get the new ones in. I would suggest doing all the unmapping first, saving that, exiting and reenter, make sure everything is unmapped, then start mapping new. One device at a time, save and reenter.

I am pretty sure I am not using any Saitek supplied software.

Thanks Stache. I will try that again. I'm running 2 quads, one for throttle and the other for mixture and radiator controls.

Gladiator here as well. You'll need to go to the VKB site and download the firmware and VKBDevCfg-C, the latter being a config program for the stick.

Alas there's not a ton of documentation in English but the problem you're running into is that the buttons on the stick have number which are too high to be recognized by most games.

Trigger for example is button 46 if I recall. You must remap the buttons using VKBDevCfg so that the buttons have lower numbers.

This thread may be a good place for you to start:

I'm back working at this after getting my Warthog Adapter for my gladiator pro. Could one of the dev's please chime in and confirm what the highest Button assignment the game will accept? By default the trigger maps to button 21 and though I can set that in WOFFKeys, it is not recognized in the game. Button 25 is not getting recognized as well.

thanks,

Kevin

kverdon,

You should send an email to support.

The email is support <at> overflandersfields.com

Replace <at> with @

Kverdon,

Emailing support is likely the best method but kicking it around here on the boards might save some time since we've both been wrestling with this issue. Garden variety VKB Gladiator here.

You've likely figured this out already but here's where I've gotten so far. There are two WOFFKeys.xca files:

(C:)\OBDSoftware\WOFF\OBDWW1 Over Flanders Fields\campaigns\CampaignData\Default\WOFFKeys.xca

(C:)\Users\XXXXX\AppData\Roaming\OBD_Games\OBDWW1 Over Flanders Fields\WOFFKeys.xca

The AppData WOFFKeys shows my 3 flight controllers and the settings I've mapped to them in the WOFFKeys application. The Default WOFFKeys is exactly that and does not change at all. Its "last modified" date is
10/14/2016.

Have you gotten any buttons to function in non-default settings? I'm having difficulty getting anything mapped besides button 1 as trigger, which is its default.

What's confusing is that the default settings for buttons 1-8 don't seem to be changeable. I can map trigger to button 1 in the logical layer of the VKBDevCfg program and get it to work but I wonder if that's just the default kicking in. I attempted to map the top button of the gladiator to pause game (logical button 2) and selected the same in Woffkeys. No joy. The button remains mapped to fire cannon only, which corresponds to "generic joystick" in the default Woffkeys file.

Have you made any headway?

-epower

Well I am basically in the same boat. I remapped all my Warthog/Gladiator Pro controller buttons down to buttons 1-37. Like you, only button 1 works as programmed (Fire All Guns). It will acknowledge the other buttons and I can assign them in WOFFKeys but they do not work in the game. The workaround is to use VKBDevConfig to make a custom WOFF config that maps keyboard commands to the buttons and that seems to work ok.

I wish they would fix this in an upcoming patch.
