I want to see it. I'm concerned the idea won't translate well to the screen, so I'll go in with low expectations, but that sets it up to win too. Might be too close to Christmas to be able make it to the theater.
I won't risk it, I'll be renting this one. I will definitely rent it, though, because I think Fassbender can pull it off if anyone can...but I'm not sure even he will succeed, so no trip to the cinema for me.

Rental for me as well. I only have one "must see" movie left for me to watch this year.

I just hope the editing is much better than in the trailers. When you do more than 3 cuts on single scene, even if it is as action scene, it just makes me cringe.
I do not expect issues with acting or the story, just the damn studios meddling trying to make this a "fast action" movie for kids with ADHD, since that is not the way you play this game.
I just hope the movie doesnt freeze up like ac3 does to my computer.
That's no lie! I was marathon playing AC IV (Black Flag) last night trying to build up lots of money for some of the last upgrades, was attacking a very well stocked ship when jumped by about 5-6 other well stocked ships. I had all but one burning and waiting to board to collect my loot. Took my final shot on the last ship and the game froze on me and I lost it all...lol.
To be fair though, I had been playing non stop for about 4-5 hours at that time.
Odd, AC4 never froze on me. I never defeated all the legendary ships I don't believe, but pretty much everything else. I got AC3 free from Uplay, I'll get to it some time in 2018 at my current rate...

I really have the urge to play AC4 again. None of the other games have really appealed to me like that one. Matt Ryan doing the voice and playing as Jax from SOA...just awesome.
I did some research before buying AC4 during the big Steam sale for half off (Gold edition for $24). I never played any AC before, so what I heard was AC3 was kind of buggy and had the freezes. Researching AC4 I learned it had a lot of what was supposed to work in AC3, and now did.
Honestly I've only had AC4 freeze up twice on me, and that was after playing non-stop marathon sessions for many hours...when I should have taken a break and rebooted...lol. The game is freaking addictive to me...lol.
I don't recall having any issues with AC3. I currently have installed and playing AC1 with mods, AC2 with mods, AC3, AC4, AC Unity, AC Syndicate, AC Revelations, AC:China, AC:India and AC:Russia. Eventually I'll install and play through Brotherhood again and try to finally finish AC:Liberation. I also want to play through Rogue a second time which I really liked. Its fairly short but its a good port and a good one to play if you enjoyed AC3. The earlier games especially have some really questionable content some of which flat out offends me but these games are so much fun for their fiction-based historical narratives and settings and can be so interesting. It really is a cool sci-fi idea to have someone essentially time travel by being injected to their ancestor's memories through genetics.
BTW if you don't already have AC3 it may still be free on Uplay right now.
In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!

Yeah, the movie is doing very poorly with both the critics and the box office. This isn't Fassbender's fault either. No actor could have made this work.
Yikes, it currently has a 20% rating on Rottentomatoes.com

Notice audience exit poll rates it on 71%. This has happened a few times this year. I can think of Suicide Squad and Warcraft having similar disparity.
In my opinion this is an effect of niche movies. Their main audience will always support them, even if general attendance and movie critics do not.
EDIT: I can see Passengers is doing similarly....with similar low box office numbers too. I guess people like JLaw and Pratt.

I don't know if you can call "Suicide Squad" a niche movie though. It made 745 million world-wide.
