Thank you everyone for participating in this little challenge! It's been great fun watching all your pilots progress and battle with these flimsy old machines and flying with "RiR" settings. As 77_Scout put it so eloquently.... "A full-on, no crying diaper babies, max-real challenge". Sadly, no "aces", except possibly the killer tree outside of Verdun. Lederhosen's junior pilot went on a charge toward the end however, notching 3 victories to lead that category. The highest points scorer, by a nose, was Dutch, with an early flurry of successful missions. He was closely followed by Stache. Highest points scorer still alive at the end was Nietszche. The only pilot to complete all 24 flights was... well nearly, with 23...77_Scout. Overall winners were the Entente team, thus bucking the historical trend. That said, I wonder if we'd been a little further north whether the Central Powers might have had a few more 2-seaters to prey upon! The N10 is a lovely plane to fly, despite its limited ammo, and it won out in our little challenge. Congrats to all the Entente pilots! Next up will be part 2 - Bristol Scout vs Fokker EIVThe high-powered EIV comes with double the firepower of the EIII. Hit fast and hard and then get out of there is the way to go with this machine. The Bristol is a very balanced craft, an ex-racer, so quite fast in pursuit. However, you have to lean out of the cockpit to sight the gun on your target which makes things quite challenging! These two are a pretty interesting match! We will start on Saturday December 1st. Look out for more details in a new thread sometime next week. Cheers and Happy Thanksgiving to you all!!

Congratulations, Dutch Grmpf... I wasn't aware, that the Competition is already over LOL But I'll continue Hauke's Career for Fun, anyway... the E4 is cool and there are more interesting Planes in the near Future. The 3-Days-Skip was a good Idea. Okay, let's go Scouting, then

Hi Lederhosen, I'm hoping we can kick off this coming Saturday. I'll be working on it this week and will post details in a new thread soon.
H Great! Looking forward to it. A few thoughts based on phase one... We discovered that weather can cancel some of our missions. Maybe make up 'cancelled for weather'missions by flying on the next flyable day? It would be nice (my opinion only) to give a better incentive to staying alive and flying missions. Currently, the winning strategy is to have a good start (rack up a decent score) and then promptly die or stop flying (locking in that nice high score).

Currently, the winning strategy is to have a good start (rack up a decent score) and then promptly die or stop flying (locking in that nice high score). Hmm well I for one did not die on purpose... But perhaps a penalty for dying is in order. Scaled to how long you survived. Small penalty for dying quickly, Larger penalty for dying later?

All, part 2 will start this coming Saturday. I will be posting more details in a new thread on Wednesday, including revisions to scoring, rules etc, based on what we learned from part 1. I suggest we don't get too bogged down in it though. The main aim is to test our wits with RiR settings and try to stay alive until the end! Meantime, those interested in signing up for part 2 can do so here.... https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeS1SP6wq3OUtRNNp5xOpuPTkuhYxePoQsmNNy8UR5Ir5AVTA/viewformjust your forum name and pilot name for now... Remember, we are switching sides! Those who flew the Eindecker in part 1 now go to the Bristol Scout, and those who flew the N10 go to the EIV. H
