According to a paramedic I was recently talking to, when my daughter popped her kneecap out (the perils of artistic roller-skating), a lot of Polish paramedics are coming over to the UK. I wonder if the response time will be as quick! Mind you this was before Brexit!

They're taking the bursary out of paramedics, nursing, and ODP training. Either the health service won't get enough frontline staff or they'll have to get them from elsewhere.
Amazing response time on the video though! I think that'll be one of the few times that the paramedics will be the one to say they're on the job rather than being assigned a job....

I don't get it. There was plenty of time for them to see the car coming the other way and get back in line. Instead, they seemed to be just riding there and then jerked the wheel hard at the last second.
Were they checking their Facebook feed while passing or something?

If they're anything like South Florida drivers then I would say yes. It's really become an epidemic.

Something to think about. Good friend was on her way to work this morning around 5am and had to pass through a roundabout coming this way. Only thing was. There was Semi truck going around the round about head on towards her the wrong way. She pulled over enough take a photo and shake her head. She said this was the second time this week this happened. WTF is going on out there. Her boyfriend called the trucking company and got no where. Told them to call the State patrol and show them the photo. Truck driver is now out of a job and facing charges.
Is that a roundabout? I didn't think you had those Stateside. Perhaps it was an English driver who lost concentration there.
British press are having a campaign against truck drivers using media. Many pix of foreign drivers caught in the act of using tablets, phones and even laptops in their cabs whilst on the road. A reaction to this terrible accident in which a driver distracted by his smartphone piles into stationary traffic killing a mother and three children on one of our motorways.

There putting in roundabouts like crazy all over the place. Issue is that huge numbers of folks do not know wtf to do with them. Last month nearly had a head on with someone doing what that semi was doing. Also issues local to where I am where they stick ones with way to small radius in front of freeway on/off ramps. Semi's are driving all over the curbs trying to deal with it. Who knows wtf that guy is doing. Maybe thought screw it... its early and this way looks easier.

Rear ended a car at a traffic circle in Wakefield Quebec a couple of years ago. Woman stopped at the yield sign as I was checking for traffic in the circle. A car had entered the circle from the road she was going to go on to. Was a fairly large circle (~130'/40m) as there is lots of semi traffic on that particular road.
No I wasn't tailgating her and didn't get charged.

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB. The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed. There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

It's these slow people. My guess is in a physical it takes about 10 seconds for nerve transmission to let their brain know they got whacked in the knee.
They come up to turn at an intersection where they have a green and the other direction is red. They look. They look. No cars are coming, they're in a big line with no one moving. They look so more. They turn their heads to look around. The light changes and the cars start to move.
They pull out in front of them.

coming up to this roundabout https://goo.gl/maps/7rfo5d8RnYK2 middle of summer, early afternoon maybe, maybe five or more years ago, it was fairly new, didn't have the shrubbery built up in the middle. I very rarely get to this part of the region, probably the first time in a couple of decades. I'm right about at the position in the image, when an overlength semi comes barrelling along in the oncoming direction, and clearly too fast to manage the curve, goes straight over the middle and continues on through. It wouldn't have been a problem for me unless I was having to go round to get to the left turn exit, and one might hope he would have seen me (and I certainly would have seen him), but it could have been pretty dire for anyone coming along the cross street from my left, as I don't think he would have had the visibility distance to react at that speed. I suspect he was as unfamiliar with the road as I was, and because it wasn't a light or a big stop sign, he didn't register that he would have to slow down and drive carefully. (In his direction, the posted 80kph dropped to 60kph about 300m prior to the circle.)

Even though I know how to use them I absolutely hate roundabouts. It reminds me of the early 70's when all the road signs were being made with kilometers and mile distances. Most of those are gone now and imo in a short time the roundabout phase will run its course and they will take them out again. Keeps the construction crews busy though.
