aside from the premier, its been boring and frustrating.. like, all of a sudden the group cant do anything? iam getting sick of the groups weakness and passive behavior.. Negan or whatever his name is should be dead by now.. the group went from navy seals to just seals... ready for clubbing... hell, the group is so pussified, iam begining to feel contempt for them... rick needs to be killed off and let carl run the group...

Personally i think there building the story well.(but it is lacking action)
In the current story line Rick has had his spirit broken, he feels responsible for his friends deaths,
He knows his group is out gunned if he tries to fight there be slaughtered.
I think the pace will pick up as the seasons story develops.
One of the things i like about TWD there not afraid to try new types of story lines.
Nothing is black and white.

Well IMO it's going the way of Lost or really any soap opera. In that, in order to generate interest some characters need to act out-of-character, or some new extreme character is brought in.

TWD started life as a "realistic" portrayal of survival in a "realistic" zombie apocalypse. However, in keeping with the need to churn out new series, each series is marked by some cartoon foe, worse than the last one.

I don't watch the show but my first thought is: How can you keep coming up with new ideas for a zombie survival show well into 7 seasons? It just seems to me that there's only so much you can do with the premise.

after season 2 it became a soap opera... after about season 3 or 4 of Sopranos same thing... they are taking a two dimensional story only really appealing to a niche audience and making it three dimensional... trying to capture more of the market by making it appeal to all social types through interpersonal story and relationship building AKA the 'soap opera' making it a generic and umbrella tele-drama ... plus, hell, the way they are shooting scenes in the last few seasons, I could budget the thing..

I've never bothered watching it, but my wife said she's tried numerous times to watch it and found it dull beyond compare.

I just find "Zombie"* films and series in general dull.

The only exceptions are Shawn of the Dead and Zombieland. And only because they are parodies.

I'm the same as Jayhawk except that I have enjoyed zombie survival PC games like Left 4 Dead and Dying Light quite a lot.

The show isn't about zombies, is about human nature. The storytelling is beyond slow. The format of breaking up the story into 3-4 groups that rotate shows is ridiculous. Negan is over the top and also ridiculous--too many of his own people hate him. He should've been sniped long ago, or one of his bullying sessions turned on him. Holy crap, Rick bit a guy's neck to kill him when Carl was threatened! They didn't fold when the Gov hacked Hershel's head off. They didn't panic when cannibals had them locked up in a boxcar.
I'm tired of the show and the break they take mid season to stretch it out to make it look like a decent length season. I wish they would get back to the zombie apocalypse. As it is now? Relocate if you aren't going to do anything!

LOL Raw. Ok, I got it. It's a soap opera with the trappings (ie window dressing) of a zombie apocalypse.

Bingo. Might as well be rabid badgers now. The zombies are a fill in the blank constant concern, but by no means what the show is about anymore. They will never come close to how brilliant season 1 was.

Sounds just like what happened to "Heroes" and "Lost"!

LOL
Well, it pretty much is the Rick show!
The title refers more to the characters/the living, than the zombies.

I know the ratings have tumbled recently for this show but why does it still attract a large audience in general? Do you think the soap opera element draws in the female demographic?
