I've just started my own expedition into the black as well. Do you have a general route or direction in kind? I'm heading north, with an eventual turn to either Jacques or Sag A when I feel like it.
Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty. This is known as "bad luck.” -Robert Heinlein

I figure if I go far enough 'north' then turn to Jacques/Sag/whatever I'll still be off the beaten track.

Be safe out there. Remember to keep be careful around the new neutron stars and white dwarves.
I had thought about visiting Jacques at some point. But I'm enjoying myself, engaging with a variety of elements, and even more since 2.2 released. So I'll probably stick around in the bubble for a good while.

On the way from the bubble to Colonia I ran on the north side of the Ecliptic- got first find on about 7 Earth-like worlds during the trip. There's lots of exploring to do out here still.
If Jaques Station starts stocking Advanced Discovery Scanners again (I made the stupid mistake of selling mine when I started the Mining CG here), I'll hop back out into the black.

Remember also, we have module storage and shipping now. So you should be able to buy and store a few modules while you are in the bubble, and if they aren't in stock at Jacques, have them shipped in. May take a while on delivery, but better than never!
