Greetings. Is there a file i can edit the default zoom value? As in when hitting the reset view button in cockpit, need it wider. Campaign, i let the game put me in a unit and i ended up way behind enemy lines, near London actually, will i be moved as i progres or should i try to transfer closer? And........... how on earth do you guys stay alive in this game :P I havent been into combatsims very long, just a month or so playing IL2, not doing so bad there but this game, dang its hard, hehe. Sorry for bad spelling, getting old and alzimers light is kicking in

Welcome to WOFF Kris018! I don't think you want to get involved in editing /xdp files just yet JJJ did a mod for setting the default viewpoint which edits those files for you. Check it out here... http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/4286511/Pilot_viewpoint_mod#Post4286511Before installing it, or any other mods for that matter, browse the mod section and find out more about the JSG mod installer. I would get that set up on your system first and then start looking at adding mods. Lots to learn here. It's a brutally tough sim to master but that's what makes it great! As Povolski said, you really need a Track IR. Maybe you already have one? Cheers H

Thank for reply everyone, i have a son thats been into gaming and mods for many years so he is helping me out (finaly gort some use for him, hehe), that java program isent realy doing anything for me, it does state it changed some files but cant realy see anything diff inside the game. My boy started digging into some files and managed to get the aircraft im currently flying sortet atleast, do that java aplication be located anywhere when running it? Started a campaign as a recon pilot, im good at running away But seems my CO dont like me to mutch, keeps yelling at me when i come home, arent there any "warning" when mission is completed? think im going home to early tbh.

This is a bunch of VERY helpfull folks ( as yoy are finding out ).
I would advise LOTS of QC time to learn how to adjust to all of the situations. Start one on one ( they being a rookie ) and progress up to you alone up against several Acs's.
If you do not mind, what is your age.
I hit 80 next April.

My boy started digging into some files and managed to get the aircraft im currently flying sortet atleast, do that java aplication be located anywhere when running it? Yes, you can place it anywhere. This applicaion modifies pilot view angle - one point (click) is approximately 6 degrees of FOV. It opens every aircraft file, locate pilot viewpoint value and modifies it per your selection (either zoom in or zoom out). Try to modify your viewpoint by 2 or 3 points, then click "Apply mod" and "Exit" button. Runn BDPStamp.exe torefresh bdp files, then start WOFF and compare result with default setting. If you are not satisfied, you can at any time change viewpoint angle to WOFF stock setting by clicking "Restore" button.

Thanks JJJ65. It might be safe to use but doesn't include new craft or DM changes and fixes though. This mod does not replace any xdp file, it just looks for value of "Pilot view" inside of every xdp file and modifies it per user wish.

A Welcome from me, too, Kris As for the Difficulty, WOFF pretty much hits the Real Thing, as we all found out over Time, playing Contests and DiD (or RiR lately) Campaigns in this Forum, here. We even had one Contest, where the average Survival-Time of all Participants almost exactly matched that of real WW1-Pilots (somewhere around 17 hours in the Air, I think) It might be a good Idea to start your first Campaigns in comparably fast Planes, to make sure you can flee from Danger as soon as Things get out of Control (which they usually do )

Thank you all once again, was about to ask even more dumb questions but got slapped in the head by my son and directed to the manual Found the instuctor now and that helped alot. As for TrackIR, did some browsing and it looks realy cool, will hold off on getting it for now since i dont know how mutch spare time i have in the future, i do roadracing in my spare time and crashing as mutch as i do cost heavy $$$. @CW3SF im 44 year old, from Norway so my english skills arent as good as they once was @MFair ofc im diving in, is there any other way? Back to flying now, alive for 5 missions now (pats himself on back)

Nice shot Kris..great sim isnt it? Im also 44 i think we are the young pups on this fantastic forum your English is fine pal. Ther,es cheaper alternatives to TrackIR pal,(Facetracknoir) its not as good but it does the job. If you do get serious about WOFF then trackir is imo as essential as a flightstick. Well done so far in your 5 missions all the best and Welcome to the Forum...have fun good luck
