I had that moment just watching Discovery Channel videos about tank warfare, of how a shell can penetrate thick tank armor.

It's no surprise what that can do to ship armor, although I didn't realize ship armor was that thick!

A hole in thick steel? That's nothing. I want to see the machinery used to determine the tensile and yield strength on this thing!

I believe that shell made a slight hole in the good sir's battleship.

And no noticable damage to the projectile...

Which the article mentions carried on into the potomac and was not recovered!

A 1.3 ton bullet going close to mach 2, is
likely to do a bit of damage to things.

Missiles may be a more effective longer range weapons system.
But IMO, you cant beat a big ass cannon that fires big ass shells. LoL
