Nice shots Trooper. How do you like WOFF? I have Microsoft Combat III ? I think that is what you have to start with? Is it Worth the Investment? I am mainly a SP simmer, Do you recommend it and is it a lot of work to get installed and working up to the Current WOFF? Maybe you would like to RM me instead of answer here ?
Well has to be the greatest single player sim yet developed..so should you get it..that's a big fat YES

I have a question. If you are using fraps or some similar video capture software, how are you replaying your missions and taking external pictures of your dogfights? Are you maybe pausing the mission in game during your dogfight and taking these pictures, or how are you doing it? Very nice pics by the way Trooper. I think I am going to purchase WOFF EU this Wednesday or next Saturday.
I just pause mid game and take the odd pic here and there with the different camera views I don't use fraps etc... just pause, select the view I want and press the 'K' key to take my pic.
The Hun is on his way!... we have to gain altitude quickly.
A break in the murky conditions give us a first sighting of the enemy.
If we can't get up there soon it will be too late, we will never catch them!
He's going home... Almost there!
DAMN AND BLAST IT!... couldn't catch the blighter. Fired off all my ammunition, but couldn't do much damage at that range. As I head back to St Omer, I drop below the clouds once more, the dark atmosphere returns and matches my mood...
Really nice Trooper. I have neglected to purchase WOFF UE yet, but I am off From Wednesday until next Monday. I think I am going to have to take the plunge. If this Sim is one half as good to fly as the pictures show it to be, then it must be worth it.
I will say, compared to RoF, you may be a little disappointed in the games feeling of flight, as RoF is far superior in that regard. However, the dev's have made various improvements to the fm's over the years.
The game does excel in its campaign mode, plus a pretty believable AI system which does beat RoF in that regard. I have always said, if we could combine the great bits of both games we would be in WWI aviation heaven
Well I have purchased and installed. I just ran it with autopilot, need to make time to set up controls, but so far so good. I am looking forward to delving into this deeper.
But that crate is so difficult to survive in... rearward and above vision is really impaired by that back staggered wing. You can't see the bad guys coming. However, forward vision is great... in reality they excelled in the ground attack role, but they can't really hold their own against a well flown Albatros... glad you took the plunge.
And to think, I have not even had time to set up my controls and fly this Beautiful Sim yet. Tomorrow night and Sunday I am all up in it! Can't wait. Sweet FX just adds that little bit extra on top of the Excellent job that OBD has done with the Graphical Artistry in WOFF UE. It is quite amazing what they have squeezed out of the old CFS3.
Glad you are enjoying it BM. There are countless hours of great experiences ahead of you and UE always seems to find ways to surprise. Great screen shots everyone.
After a bit of struggle to get my controls working and getting TIR5 working and I am finally up and flying. I have Wednesday off plus 5 days off coming up from Thursday before Christmas through the day after Christmas off. I did a little 2 on 2 and I am surprised at how good WOFF UE feels. I really like ROF and haven't flown it in months but this really feels like it is going to be fun in the Dog Fights. My Crosswinds feel just right with no adjustment. My Thrustmaster t16000m feels perfect after I turned the dead zone down to #2. I use an X52pro for the throttle and the stick for extra buttons and I am curios whether the Saitek software will work in WOFF UE? Here are a couple of pics I took using Sweet FX and NVDINSP 4x S [Combined: 1x2 SS + 2x MS(D3D only)] Antialiasing Mode and 2x Sparse Grid Supersampling and 16x Anistrophic filtering setting while keeping 50-60 FPS with Vertical Sync forced on. The Vertical Sync really keeps the screen from chopping up when using TIR5 and 2560x1440. I think it looks good plus even in heavy traffic I still keep good FPS with my old GTX770 4 GB. Hope you enjoy.
Also with the announcement of a WW2 version by end of next year lots to look forward too!
Go to WOFF forum to see WW2 announcement.
To those worried that it needs CFS3..honestly you have no need to worry if you didn't know you'd know idea CFS3 had anything to do with it.
It's way way more than just a glorified mod.
Also the WW2 version will benefit from all the engine updates WOFF has gone through..so at release it will be fantastic never mind after expansions etc etc.

1. True.
2. According to the devs, Wings Over The Reich (WOTR)has even higher polygon counts and a better flight model and damage model than WOFF UE has, however once WOTR has been released, their goal is to import those advancements back into WOFF UE.
3. OBD plans to continue releasing add-ons for the Ultimate Edition, so it looks like the best WWI flight simming days are still ahead of us.

WOFF_UE is really starting to grow on me. I have finally gotten all of my HOTAS set up the way i want it and TIR5 working well. I am now going back through and trying to tweek my Nvidia settings for the best quality visuals that I can run. Had bad tearing for some reason so I am slowly going from global settings and building each option by trial and error. Still struggling a bit with the Antialaising settings so these picks may not be the best, but I thought they were worth sharing. I have my Historical Pilot set up but i am still practicing a bit before we jump into a DID Campaign. Hope you enjoy.
Cheers Trooper..great shots by everybody, fantastic sim.

Love that shot where it looks as though the gunner has his Lewis pointed at the pilots head. "Take me home or I pull the damn trigger!" Lol!

Some new shots from this Fantastic sim, WOFF UE. This has been well worth the money I spent for it. Thank you OBD, the AI alone is worth the price of admission for this SP Simmer. I hope you can work this magic with the AI in WOTR. Good Luck.
Ah, this really makes me want to go back to playing it... Although I should probably also spend more time trying to get that VR implementation to work for it. But either way, with baby incoming in a matter of weeks now I probably won't do either for months.

Congratulations on the "INCOMING!!!!!!!!!!" baby FlyingMonkey, . . . Errrrrr? that didn't sound right, ???? Hope all goes well and he or she is healthy and Errrr, doesn't look like a Monkey, . . . . and Uhhhhh? doesn't have wings either.. Here are a few more pics to tide you over. Haven't had much time myself lately, but possibly tomorrow I will get back into it. Enjoy!

Here are some more from the 20th. The Grey paint scheme really worked in the stormy gloomy weather of that period. I never ever understood why they painted some of the planes grey but it makes sense looking at some of these pics. Thanks go out to 4L0M for his awesome sky box and cloud mods. Not to mention his land textures also at work here.
Awesome shots once again Blade. Loving the close up shots....brilliant pal,im also using 4LOM,S mods

Saw this thread as I was scrolling through the boards, and I'm glad I stopped to give it a look.
These are some jaw-dropping screenshots, Blade! I have to ask what kind of system you are running? Your pictures are making me think about upgrading my video card! (and power supply... and so on and so on.... ). I thought WOFF looked good on my rig but these images really show off what the sim can shine up too if you have the horsepower to run it!

No horsepower here. AMD Phenom II 965BE 3.4 GB. 16GB DDR3 1800 Corsair Ram, EVGA GTX770 4GB DDR5. A few HDDs, 7200rpm? It is starting to be at some of the bottom required specs for theses sims. I am using Sweet FX from the Mods page here with the supplied INI. Invidia Inspector is also in use and I am particularly fond of 2X or 4X Spase Grid Supersampling. I am thinking on a new build maybe next year? Going to have to go with Intel as AMD just doesn't seem to keep up anymore. I am thinking of going on and buying an EVGA 1080 8GB, but I am not sure if my PCI E slot will carry it or if I have and 8 pin plug, LOL. Time to study up I guess. Anyway, thank you for the complements and here are a few more to share. Hope you enjoy.

A Foggy late afternoon over Filescamp (Mod by Robert Wiggins) Ground fog by Buckeye Bob (weather mod) Massive thanks to ALL the modders who continue to work on this excellent sim. Also to Geezer for the use of his ground models..and of course OBD without whom none of this would be possible.

Very nice Pics Adger. It is so nice having several really good combat sims to choose from theses days. Between WOFF UE, ROF, IL2 Blitz, IL2 Box, DCS and even IL2 1946 BAT still. I have a hard time deciding which one to jump into, and with limited time it is hard to keep up to date and proficient with all of them. I am a Jack of all Combat Sims and a Master of none! I don't know what I will do when CLOD 5.0, Flying Circus, BOBP and WOTR get here, they will probably carry me off to the Loony bin from shear indecision and appearing to be way to overly happy. These are some old un posted ones. Hopefully tomorrow I can get in WOFF UE and fly some and take some new pics. Cheers

Haha im with you on that one Blade, ive been away from the forum for a while (RL and working hard) But yep i certainly get bored quickly. Il go from WOFF to Assasins creed to Far cry 4 to IL2 1946 BAT. Ive always got something different on the go . I think because my free time is short i try to cram in as much as possible. I really need to take 1 game (sim) at a time..looking forward to WOTR though. As always i love your shots keep em coming pal

@blademaster, could you make a screenshot from your nVidia adjustments, think that could be an intresting source if seeing your pictures.
Dutch, I haven't been flying WOFF UE in a while and when I went to use it today, I did not have an Nvidia profile set up for WOFF UE exe. Give me a little while to play around with my settings and I will post my NVCP and my Nvidia Inspector settings. Now that you brought this up, I did not have my Sweet FX installed in JSGME. Here are some pics from tonight's quick Scenario.
Quality shots again Blade, that Alb,s certainly been peppered

Thanks, going to use them, only right now I do have another .dll & C++ error popup screen before the mission is started, here we go for another Woff reinstall.

Been having too much fun on WOTR guys but my 1st campaign mission in WOFFUE for a while transfered me on a dawn flight with Jasta2 to Lagnicourt. (using Jasta 12,s Kurt Monington skin as my personal one)

Nice pics Trooper. She looks like a little brute of a bi plane. I like it. Hopefully on Wednesday I will get a chance to install and fly her. The reflection on that cowling looks incredible.
I had a fight with some S.E.5a's and managed to hold my own... but I found it difficult to keep eyes on a target with that low top wing! I need much more practice with this little bird...

Cheers Trooper yeah it's a good campaign and the Spads are great kites to fly in.

Stunning Mate! Absolutely Stunning! Of course that is not unusual from you as you have an excellent eye for screenshot composition. Keep them coming. Sounds like a really good Campaign for a short or full length AAR, no???
Thanks Drew much appreciated, il see if i can come up with anything worth writing towards an AAR pal.

Reminds me of flying my Father-In-law's 1947 Luscomb floatplane into their small lake surrounded by trees. No flaps, so if you didn't know how to slip, you didn't stand a chance. Not much problem with surface level crosswinds because of the trees, but you did have to carefully time straightening out from the slip just before you hit the water...
Wonderful pics, both Trooper and Adger. Love WOFF, just wish I had more time to fly it. Keep up the great work in dropping pics here! If I can't fly it, seeing the pics being posted here is the next best thing.
@Trooper looks like it, how do you get your supplies in? by parachute or do you have to hunt the local game
@Major..Sounds like a lot of great memories flying in and out of the lake, i bet the scenery was beautiful but i also bet there was some scary moments mate.
@Blade..Cheers pal, hope you can find some time soon to get the old kites back in the air..Your pics are always a treat to see.

Mission 3,Ernst Udet takes us up to go and have a nosy over our own airfields at 7.05am. Less than 20 mins later he spots 2 Caudrons and sends us in. He grabs one i the other we then carry onto our patrol but no more action was to be found i grab my 1st kill..or so i thought.. claim denied, ah well i survive to fight another day and i hope that tomorrow is a later take-off, these early morning flights are chilling me to the bone.

Mission 4. Dec 1916 Habsheim in the Alsace region...
Another early rise and dawn take-off, our mission today was a special one. We were to meet up with the Rolands from FA(A) 206 and escort them to there target which was a enemy camp. Ernst led the flight and we formed up and headed upto meet the Rolands unfortunitely either the Rolands or Ernst got there bearings wrong and after searching for them for some time we never saw them..Ernst decided that it was a total waste of time and we all headed back to base. The mood and morale in camp is low at the moment the Jasta are seeing little action, claims are being denied and now we can't even meet up with the bombers..lets hope some heads roll for the latest debacle.

Nice AARs Ade! Great pictures Sir. Sounds like you are enjoying PE. Glad to hear it. When you get a second, I PMed you a question. Honestly Trooper, the mules don't even look like they trust those pirates. It is a wonder you receive any supplies at all from that motley bunch! Take care Mate.
Thanks Drew much appreciated (No PM showing in my inbox mate?)

Mission 5..Destroy an enemy Observation balloon that was troubling our forces.
A bit of a later start this morning: We took off at 07.45 and formed up, i was leader for this mission and we climbed altitude to 10,000 ft
I noticed the Obs Balloon from a distance away and dove down on it whilst my flight stayed above to keep an eye out for any enemy. The ground fire was quite ferocious and my craft was hit a couple of times..despite this i had a good big target to aim at and consequently managed to down the balloon. No enemy AC were seen and we had a pleasant flight back to base. My claim went in and was accepted..my 1st kill and a nice silver goblet was presented aswell, all in all a really good morning's work.

Thomas Muller Mission 6. Dec 1916 Habsheim airfield in the Alsace region...
An 8:05 takeoff with Ernst Udet once again taking us up, it was warmer this morning and the snow's look like it's melting slowly dark clouds were above and i knew it,d be difficult to spot anyone up there. It was a Sperrflug mission (Intercept) of some aircraft that had been bombing our troops, we were close to the enemy frontlines when Ernst spotted them 1st.(He,s got the eyesight of a hawk) 2 Caudrons were on there way back after there mission, I was instructed to take the left craft of the pair and proceeded to fire my guns..wow it soaked up my ammo but eventually i saw the craft spiral out of control, the pilot was lucky, id hit him and he was slumped dead in the cockpit, the observer/gunner less so he was still alive when i saw him jump out from 3000ft..i sight that will live with me for the rest of my days. the claim was confirmed and i got the credit i also received the "eisernes kreuz" 2 Klasse (Iron cross) but my award is tainted in what i witnessed, i was shaking when i left the cockpit but Ernst was quick with a stiff drink to try calm my nerves....

Still looks bleak and cold!... the game does set the scene for the player. When I do these type of missions it always makes me feel cold and sometimes down in a funny sort of way. And yet I never feel like that when the mission is set on a nice sunny day!!!
I'm with you on that pal, and I'm not sure of any other sim that captures the feeling of weather like WOFF does. I honestly feel like that in RL too..I hate cold dark days (I work outdoors) so the more sun I get the better
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.
Cheers Drew a new day with the snows finally gone, ive been bitten with the WOFF bug again and PE looks incredible.
Thomas Muller Mission 7... 20th Dec 1916 Habsheim airfield in the Alsace region...
A early patrol over the frontlines was the order for this morning, the heavy rain yesterday that suspended the flights had cleared the last of the snows. It was a absolutely beautiful morning, cold but the sunrise was a sight to behold. Ernst was again our patrol leader and tensions were frayed after making an idiot of himself last night (He,d been drinking all of yesterday). Instead of the early night he decided to drink until the early hrs and he was like a bear with a sore head when he got his call at 06.15am
I dont know how he managed to take off but i made sure i watched him very carefully and he very nearly clipped the trees to his left hand side during take-off Not long after take off i noticed a couple of Caudrons above us. I signalled to Ernst that id spotted them and he looked to see. After a brief moment he signalled to carry on with our objective..I was flabbergasted, i couldn't believe that he wasn't going to get us climbing to meet the target.
I looked at him with disgust from the cockpit, it's a good job he couldn't hear my obscenities.. We continued to patrol the frontlines and the troops from both sides below were getting a serious pounding. No more opportunities arose during the flight and we landed..i couldn't help myself i jumped down and the mechanics had to keep us apart. Christmas is coming up and i've never felt so low, it looks like i could be putting in a transfer very soon...

Thomas Muller Mission 8... 21st Dec 1916 Habsheim airfield in the Alsace region...
We had another dawn mission to patrol just over the lines, we were to protect our recon and artillery recon aircraft and also to attack any ground forces if any opportunity came up. It was a misty dawn morning and the clouds above were dark and foreboding. We all took off and patrolled our area, no contacts were spotted and there wasn't much going on at ground level aswell..(the ground mist over the patrol area would have made it near impossible to see anyway)..We all landed safely for breakfast and a hot drink.

Thomas Muller Mission 9... 22nd Dec 1916 Habsheim airfield in the Alsace region...7.55am
A mission to patrol close to the lines, Ernst again took us up and the clouds like the previous day were dark and visibility was low. We circled to altitude and proceeded on our route. We got within a few miles of the front when Ernst signalled..he,d spotted enemy AC ahead of us, il say this there,s nothing wrong with his eyesight. the number 3 in flight took the left hand foe who took him down a few thousand feet in a spiralling fight. Both myself and Ernst took on the same target and i got in 1st and peppered the Caudron then Ernst appeared in front of me, what a fool !! i had to quickly bank or we would have both collided..the man's mad the Caudron,s top part of his wing split and our foe tumbled to the ground. We landed and i managed to grab Ernst and land one on his chin, we both ended up scrapping in the mud and again had to be pulled apart, im sure there's going to be reprimands after this latest incident..Its 3 days until Christmas and my morale along with my nerves are shot. Im going to request some leave and a possible transfer before one of us kills the other.

Great shots mate, I've never flown the 28 I might just try a QC flight in a bit and if I like it I might make it my next campaign.cheers pal.

Yea, I have never flown the N28 in WOFF either. I flew it in ROF, but the FM was always screwed and it never even flew like a turn fighter which, in my understanding from the reading I did, it was. Nice pics both of you, I am really enjoying them for a break from WOTR.

My Dad has this sim and it's been nothing but a headache since the latest upgrade. Some kind of bug with DirectX . He has to reinstall it everytime he wants to play it and I have no idea what it could be, it says that CFS2 is not required but putting it in the drive obviously helps. Anyone have a clue about this?

Hi KRT it may be better to ask over on the forum pal you'd definitely get a better response there. "CFS2" do you mean 3 ? Fwiw you don't need CFS3 installed or in the drive you just need to own it. Regarding direct x have you or your dad read the FAQ for WOFF ..it explains the install of direct x that comes with the sim. HTH ..best of luck and I sincerely hope your dad gets it up and running, it's an incredible sim.

Balloon busting over the lines in a early flight, It was a wet cold morning infact we'd heard the rain bucket down all night and i hardly slept a wink we took off and didn't encounter any enemy along the way..in fact the skies are unnaturally quiet. Towards the target area the ground fire opened up with everything they had, i was hit a few times but managed to down the balloon we were in good spirits when we landed and i put my claim in witnessed by 2 of my Jasta..Claim denied, Christmas?? Bahh humbug.

And they are down... Not far from my landing ground. If I hurry back I can grab a car and see if they are still alive! Perhaps they will be in need of a stiff drink, Ja!
Just a few from a French campaign...(using a non squadron skin) its still a beautiful sim, i can't wait until WOFF BHAH II is here

Nice pics mate... I can't wait for BHAH II either. So many new things to look forward to!
Cheers mate, yeah it's looking good, im hoping the OBD boys flesh out WOTR a bit in the future aswell

Yes, WoTR has been on a back burner for so long I'd almost forgotten about it... hopefully when BHAH II is done Pol and the Shred will devote a bit of love in it's direction
Woff, Between Heaven and Hell 2 is now available. My first foray into the blue was not what I was expecting!
Just take it up for a couple of circuits he said... I've repaired the tail skid he said, see what you think when you land her he said... What he didn't say was that as soon as I did get up there, there was a bunch of Huns just waiting to perforate my new kite and bomb the hell out of the bloody drome!
When I did get down, the place was still being plastered... what a carve up! After it was all over, I asked him to have a look at my new kite and could he find time to fix it a bit more... Strewth!
Just had a new engine installed, apparently the H-S 8B engines for our new S.E.5's made by the French chappies are hard to come by... a quick flight test around the local area is called for!
Beautiful shots mate, it’s a cracking sim so much smoother and the new features are excellent.

Popped into St-Pol and met some of the Naval chaps, they seem to think it was a good idea for me to take up one of their Tripehounds. What a nimble and sporty little beast it is too!
It was a glorious afternoon... such a joy to be up there on such a day.
On the way back to their drome I saw a train near the coast and chased it along for awhile... a nice end to an enjoyable flight.

Beautiful pal, love the Tripe a fantastic bird. How good does everything look that 1st shot is incredible mate.

Awful weather when we left Furnes for our daily line patrol... we aren't far from the front and as we approached we spotted four DIII's and gave chase.
One of them broke off and ran for the lines. I gave chase... not sure if he was having engine problems but I was slowly gaining on him.
Almost there...
I've got you now my friend...
One good long burst and he flipped straight over...
No recovery for him... he dove straight into the ground!
This is a PE Campaign with the 94th, but no Hat In The Ring skins? I can't seem to find them in Sandbagger's download page either. Trooper, do you remember if those skins were in any of the addon skin packs on Sandbagger's download page? Maybe they are in your new BHaHII skins? Maybe you could share them if they are? Hint, Hint?
Hi BM... I checked my WoFF PE skinpack (I kept the skin folder) and the 94th are in there, so they came with the original WoFF or the extra skinpack they produced by Robert Wiggins (skin pack Version 1, 128 MB). Download link is here: Sandbaggers download site
Did you look in the campaign section in the main game and check if you had the skins in there mate... if not I will dig them out and see if I can send them to you
Hey Trooper, I sent you a PM. Did you see it? I finally got my WOFF PE sorted. I was having crazy problems when looking straight up with my TIR5. It would stutter(not the game, the view) badly when looking up from straight ahead and even lock for seconds at a time when my I raised my view from looking straight forward to looking straight up. Looking all other directions worked spot on. It was crazy and I did a reinstall and changed my NVCP settings to an old profile I found and now it works perfect. Weird. Anyway I am trying to get a little practice in the Neup 28 before I begin my second Campaign mission with the 94th. During the first mission I almost died but did mention to badly damage an Alb before my engine gave out and I dead sticked it just, and I mean JUST, across No Mans land to land safely on friendly soil between fenced fields. LOL, I think the fences are still deadly in WOFF PE? Here are a few shots from tonight.
On patrol with Esc 48... our new Nieuports are performing well against the Fokkers. Flying today in such lovely weather one could almost forget there was a war on.
The patrol is led by Adjutant de Turenne, an experienced flyer.
We approach the lines... we have to be very alert as the enemy are sending up frequent patrols.
My little 'office' in the sky... I feel at home in here now.
What I love about the WoFF series is the fact that you get the whole deal... no messing about, you are thrust into a complete immersive WWI package. Your squadron life, pilots, aeroplanes and the history, events, aces etc are all there... there are intelligence reports on who and what is where on the map, enemy aces information for your sector, newspaper reports, the ability to fill out claim forms after each sortie, putting in for a sqn transfer, taking leave, days off when weather prevents flying, arrival of new types to fly, alternative missions, choosing to go on solo patrols, and that's not the half of it.
Workshop sections that have a whole host of options to fly 'your' war the way you want to, just about every conceivable WWI skin you can think of, (couple of thousand), fly a fully fleshed out campaign, or single missions... go to the quick combat builder and choose the type of mission or solo flight you want to construct on the map in any weather conditions with any type of aircraft and enemy types, save it to the single mission section if you want and fly it time after time to hone your skills. Top that off with a decent AI that most of the time is very believable.
The ability to mod the game is there, with a community that has produced some must have mods depending what version of the game you own.
That just about sums it up Trooper. Those are some really nice pics Sir. Here are a few more from my recent flights. Have to credit BuckeyBob's Optional Cloud Mod and 4Lom's Seasonal Texture Mod and FX Mod as being in use here.
Tonight! The smoke is from blipping the engine in preparation to land, a nice touch added by OBD. On the field is a shot of the superb CCFA Mod by Panama Red and Robert Wiggins.
BHAH II Patch 1.20 using a variety of mods (Roberts excellent mods with input from Panama Red', RAF_Louvert, Oldhat, and Geezer,.....Jerbears brilliant skinpacks, and BB,s brilliant OCM 4.2e )
