Cool pic, I'm really liking Exile and the pvp, even though we haven't ran into much of it yet. When we do it sure gets your heart pumping knowing you're facing another human.
Ya ... out of curiosity we have to try a PvP server with a high player count like that BlackHearts one ... it's the only other server that I can see with a good ping and high player counts that's running without zombies. Maybe they should run it on a smaller map than Altis though?
Came back in after we all left to get that Seahawk to the trader, as well as a crate we had stuffed with goodies, before the restart despawned it. Now have about 200K poptabs burning a hole in the locker, so methinks we should get an armed heli; either another armed Blackhawk/Seahawk so that the team can 'pew' 'pew' from the side guns, or one of the Arma choppers armed with forward firing missiles/guns that the pilot 'pews' and 'whooooshes' with......
Sounds like fun but I don't think the poptab burden should all be on you. That's the beauty of rolling with a posse. I could chip in 50K for some pew pew.
Nice games tonight highlighted by Snap having a discussion with Frank back at the terminal. Frank got an epic shot on Snap through a slot in an armored wall at our base.
Bottom line ... I think we all need anti thermal suits that I heard Frank mention. I'm not sure what they're called though. Next, maybe another strategically placed base.
Oh ya, forgot to mention we ended up claiming that armed Ifrit with a code lock so we now have two armed Ifrits back at base.
Good info, Jeff. I have to get me one of those. I'm still interested in seeing if the balaclava makes a difference over the thermo-goggles.
I had a lot of fun today. The adventures were pretty interesting. First time under siege.
Had a good chat with Frank afterwards. He was pretty nice, but I did confirm that he was hanging with Gobbler and Trout, so I think they're different in chat than they are in person. Kinda lame they accused me of combat logging when I wasn't in combat and I was in our base and ate dinner for 20 minutes before logging back in.
Anyway, this is my 10,000th post on SimHQ. It's been pretty fun.
Bad news ... I just logged onto O3G to nail down some keybinds and our SW base is gone! All I found was that quad we were using last night! Was the server reset or something?
You guys should contact the admins then. By default after protection money expires and the base disappears it stays in the database for a week or so before deletion.
They've had that happen to others and it was a no-go. The base goes to immediate deletion on the busier servers to maintain performance. I double-checked to make sure and confirmed it. We're already rebuilding elsewhere. so it's no big deal. Gear's easy to come by on the server (though for some strange reason, Vampr's always having to find new gear everytime I come on )
(I laugh because a group of us have been playing pretty much every night so this is just a reminder to people that still might be interested that we're still at it and to get in on the fun and adventure! I'll be on the SimHQ TeamSpeak Exile channel a little later. )
Sorry to resurrect this thread but I'm in need of help.
I wanted to play the Exile mod in ARMA 3 so added it via the workshop. I activate it in the launcher and run the game. When I go to the browser all I see are either red circles or green circles with a ? in them. The very few that are just green either fail to load because I need to purchase something else or it says I have some files that need replacing/moving/adding.
Obviously I'm missing something and I just spent the last 30 minutes trying to get into a game. In the end I had to stop before something got hurled across the room
I've never found mods easy to use in ARMA but I thought the workshop was suppose to make it easier. If you can help I'd really appreciate it
Use 'A3 Launcher' to run mods alot more easily. You can download it HERE.
Many Exile servers are running other mods as well, so that's probably where you're running into trouble. A3 Launcher will load any mods a server needs, or offer to download them if you don't have them.
*EDIT* I think I got this sorted.I didn't realise though that by default it puts the mods on my C drive which is my SSD and it's short of space. I changed the location to my games drive, copied over what I had already downloaded, verified the files and it carried on downloading where it left off.Brilliant!
