Some details about in DD 135

- To not be disappointed, don't expect to this come with a built-in "Hyperlobby". wink

Hyperlobby don't come with IL-2 (2001), happened exist when this was released.

"In the end I would like to highlight that since the CO-OP mode is intended for short missions, we plan to restore the ability to launch a multiplayer server directly form the game and allow a host player to become one of the players on this server. There will be a way to host a multiplayer server either using the dedicated server utility, as it happens now, or directly from the game. Basically this will be like it is now in Rise of Flight."

This is absolutely great news. This is one step in winning me and I imagine many, many others back to the IL2 BOS/BOM/BOK series. Still looking for the Mod Switch to be integrated also.

The Air Marshall idea for MP sounds like a very good idea(new) and does appeal to me as a non MP person to tempt me back into MP. Having somewhat coordinated flights grouping at certain airfields and leaving together to attack or defend certain critical areas or targets will be good. This may even help integrate Veteran pilots with newbs and ease them into the sometimes Harsh world of MP.

1C is waking up by finally fixing some of the most glaring problems and actually integrating features that have been long called for alongside some new ones that sound interesting. Fix the DNE where it can handle more planes and assets in missions to bring the war alive and I think I will have to buy BOM and BOK. Keep it up guys, I am looking for Good reasons to purchase your products and your recent announcements have peeked my interest. Seeing them implemented into the Sim will be the ultimate fulfillment of your commitment to your present and future customers. Good Luck. biggrin

While I understand the desire for dedicated servers, I am endlessly frustrated by games that ONLY have dedicated servers. I am not setting one up so I can fly with 1 or 2 friends. I want to have control over it myself and run it from my PC as I fly, just as I do for many other games.

I accept I can't host 64 planes, but I don't want to. Local for small numbers of humans with AI flights is ideal.

The ROF way/Il-2 46 way is the way I always preferred it. CloD was the first to screw this up and BoS didn't fix it.

Hooray for seeing the point!

I third what the fine Jedi Master said.

Very exciting news. The endless coop missions our group flew in IL21946 was extraordinary

To fly scripted missions like torpedo sqaudron 8 where 7 out of 8 of us got shot down and 1 of us got through to "take the shot" on a carrier was pricelss.

Our group also took off from the Hornet in B25s and attacked the mainland...priceless momemts.

Just 2 out of hundreds of coop missions flown as a ream group

cant wait to start buying this series if true. does this mean staligrad and moscow will be coop too or just starting w kuban?

All updates effect all titles in the series, they run of the same .exe and use the same game engine, in effect if you own BoS+BoM+BoK etc. they are merged, but each can run as a standalone, but you still will have access to all maps from other titles in MP servers

Cheers Dakpilot

The only thing we don't know is the timeline.

I get that things can change, but I'd like to know if this coop ability is slated to coincide with Kuban's release (either early access or final) or if it will possibly precede it for BoS/BoM first or if it's going to wait till after Kuban comes out while that takes precedence.

In other words, it has to have a street date on some internal plan, and whatever it is I'd like to know where it is in relation to Kuban's itself.
