Hi,

I've this curious problem: upon installing WOFF UE over my existing WOFF 3 install, I find that there are no buttons on the menu screen. It appears to be oversized so that the buttons are buried beneath the bottom of the monitor. I can only rotate the various period pics by clicking on them – no way to access the campaign, quick flight, workshop, etc.

I suspect/fear this will require a reinstall, but I've a pilot who has survived over 100 missions.....!

Any help appreciated.

Cheers,

Greg

Yes, same issue with my install. Seems the resolution is too high?, maybe, but can't get into the sim itself to start it up or make any adjustments. Me too, looking for suggestion/answer to situation. Thanks also, S

Use Robert Wiggins' batch software to back up your pilots first and then restore them after the update. I have done this many times and never lost a pilot. Go look under user mods on the OBD site.

Jim,

Yeah, I know about that program. Should have looked into it long ago. Have certainly learned my lesson now!

Steve - for the record, I've tried several times to uninstall and reinstall and still the menu buttons are a no show. I wonder if it may have something to do with MS visual basic c++ files, as I'm getting a warning of messed up files upon install. Strange....

Cheers,

Greg

Check the DPI setting of windows (Font scaling). Put to normal (100%) and see if that works.

Microsoft in Windows 10 states it is not recommended to use, so if you are using it, we also recommend you stop using it.

Hi Polovski,

Thanks so much for your help - sorted!

Steve - I don't know what operating system you're using, but I'm on Windows 7 and this worked for me.

Cheers,

Greg

Pol, a simple settings adjustment, thanks. I'm good to go, which is great since my panic button goes on first whenever there's a slight glitch due to my computer ignorance. Steve

I hope this is a planned correction by OBD in the first UE patch. I strongly feel I should not have to alter my entire systems appearance and my preferred use of a legitimate adjustment because one program made a subtle change that was not needed in any previous version of the program nor is it a problem with any other game/imaging/business program I run. And no, switching this back and forth is not an option as it alters the layout of my entire desktop. Anyone using the MS 125% text size increase for the purpose of easily reading the screen should not be forced to switch it off. My eyes are not what they once were and 2560x1440 text at the MS 100% is just to darn small for me to read comfortably. Please find a workaround for this issue...

My eyes thank you in advance...

Rick

Microsoft do not recommened it. Windows 10 actually says it on the menu as it causes problems.

We have made some adjustments in the WOFF 4.01 patch, and more in the next patch, because we are nice like that - and this should help.

You guys are awesome and it most certainly helped! I had no qualms about paying for all the product I already had purchased back in May (bagged the full Monty) knowing whatever you guys had been working on would be well worth the additional outlay. I am yet to be disappointed in any existing part of your product or operation... Top notch. First class. A Number 1. Ship shape and Bristol fashion. Say what you will... Easily one of the top 2 or 3 gaming product purchases I have made in my long computer gaming life dating back to the mid 80's and the Commodore 64. Thank you!

Now that the hyperbole has been properly and appropriately dispensed... My one wish would be for a much more fluid and flexible external viewing system / flight recorder a la IL2 or RoF. From where I sit, this is the only significant weakness of WoFF. However, I fully realize the scope and complexities of such a project and have no expectations of it becoming reality.

Thank you again!

Rick West

I had a Commodore 64! I loved that thing. It was a simpler time back then, but I wouldn't want to go back because today's system, for all of their complexities and headaches, can do so much more than we ever imaged possible back then. Still, they were awesome in their day.

C64 loved it anyone remember the Big box sims from Microprose. Silent Service M1 Tank Platoon,Stealth fighter,Gunship,Knights of the sky and Airborne Ranger..awesome games back then.

Big readable manuals and Keyboard overlays. I wish modern games had big printed manuals i still have my Falcon 4 one. back then id read and reread every page before i even jumped into the sim.

As I sit here typing, I am no more than 4 feet from literally dozens of "Big Box" Sims and assorted other games. At least 20 of them are Microprose or SSI and another half dozen are Dynamix. There is also a very rare WWI flight sim called 'Dawn Patrol' by Empire still in its original box.

Buff1, many thanks. Do you use TrackIR? More views may be possible, who knows what we can do with more support.

I do use TrackIR. No serious flight simmer should be without it..! I am just so spoiled by the flexibility and fluidity of the IL2 external view capabilities. And when you consider those capabilities have been extant since the original IL2 offering in 2001, its hard to go back to a very rigid external view structure and no in-game flight recorder. I enjoy watching my flights and fights from all perspectives almost as much as I enjoy flying the original.

But again, thank you for a phenomenal product!

Rick
