We spend a lot that goes to China. We borrow a lot from China. Over time, they are using our own money to buy us.

Since 2005 I've spent 7 - 8 thousand dollars at Newegg. I liked Newegg because I never had to pay sales tax. Most things I bought shipped from their warehouse in Edison, NJ. Even if I chose 3 day shipping I usually got it overnight. With Amazon Prime I've spent more with Amazon lately and not paid sales tax on a few orders.

There was no internet when I got my first credit card...The Jedi Master There were no "general purpose" credit cards when I got my first job (newspaper boy)  ...Until 1958, no one had been able to successfully establish a revolving credit financial system in which a card issued by a third-party bank was being generally accepted by a large number of merchants...[From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia] My second job ("Helper" on a Pop delivery truck) was just after credit cards. I used that income to pay my way through college. Back in the day, everyone had "equal opportunity" but were expected to "pay their own way" (except in rare cases)

Before that My parents ordered for me when I asked for stuff, they usually hit NewEgg, TigerDirect or local store.

Considering where most of the stuff you buy on Newegg is made, does it really matter? I bounce between Amazon and Newegg to buy my PC stuff, generally leaning towards Newegg still because they're more likely to have a rebate that Amazon doesn't, often they have a greater selection, and frankly Amazon is pushing Prime so hard the free shipping has slowed WAY down. In 2010--preorder a DVD/CD/book/whatever, pick free shipping, they ship it before street date so it arrives at your house ON street date. In 2016--preorder a DVD/CD/book/whatever, pick free shipping, if you're lucky by the end of that week they ship it so it arrives at your house a week after street date, if not later. The Jedi Master
