February 26th 1916 Patrol friendly lines: from Bechamps airfield to Porcher aerodrome, and SE to the factory, 4800feet. I lead a flight of 2, plus we had 3 Fokker EIII high cover patrol. Intercepted three Nieuport 10 very low on Porcher aerodrome. Two immediatly disengaged, me and my wingman were able to encircle one. Top cover ignored us. The EA was able to evade us by speed. We put few bullets into it, but when I was crossing the enemy line I heard my Fokker being hit by ground fire, so I turned back East to home. It was too fast for me to chase. On the snow cover, a french Nieuport is not easy to spot.

While my N10 campaign pilot is dead I like to go in the meantime on a 2seater. Any advice to a 2seater escadrille or the German counterpart and which date to use.
Hi Dutch, I think your only option would be to fly for an FFA.... at least, until WOFF UE comes out, and then there should be some French 2-seaters stationed around Verdun at this time of the war. As it stands with WOFF 3, I don't think the Entente has any 2-seaters in the area. There are some BE2s further north in Flanders, but that's far away from our area of action H

Mission 13 completed, Feb 26, 1916 Seems we have transferred to Vadelaincourt airfield. I guess Verdun field was a bit too close to the fighting, what with the Germans launching a major ground offensive last week. The C.O. is pleased ... Adj. Thenault downed an Eindecker within sight of our airfield.

who intends to purchase WOFF UE as soon as it comes out??
Chhers
H I intend to get it the minute it comes available. I like the idea of having everything together in one neat package, plus the new content of course.

Never approach a bull from the front, a horse from the rear or a fool from either end. BOC Member since....I can't remember!

February 20, 1916 Mission 11After a very hectic week I found some time to relax and fly. As it turns out I should have stayed in bed. Today we flew to the rail station near Jametz. This was by far our most complex navigational attempt: Northeast or so to the Meuse River, fly along the river until the forest to the west juts across, northeast past Jametz aerodrome to the eastern forest line, then north. And I nailed it! Once I'd climbed high enough it was easy to follow my map. Nonetheless I felt a sense of relief when I passed Jametz aerodrome. Even though they were shooting at me. I saw the railyard from a few kilometers away. Nonetheless, I would have had to dive too steeply to get even a partial shot out, so I banked east, sighted along the rails themselves, and zeroed in for my first attack run. The fools left crates right out in the open. I dove, firing at it. And kept firing as it came closer and closer. At the last minute I yanked hard on the stick to pitch up. Too late. I hit the boxes and/or the ground, climbed in a nice parabolic arc, then crashed and exploded. At least they gave me a nice funeral. And I DID damage the crates! Adieu, mon ami!

February 20, 1916 Mission 11 Adieu, mon ami! Oh no! Another brave pilot lost. Sorry to hear this CatKnight... If WOFF UE ships prior to the end of the challenge, what do people think about the idea of letting DiD pilots rejoin officially as 2-seater pilots using WOFF UE (there should be 2-seaters for both sides at that point)? Perhaps if they survive for 2 weeks / 4 missions in 2-seaters, then they get to jump back into the fray in scouts as low ranking rookies.... thoughts? H

Nice work 77_Scout
Challenge Scores updated in post 1. Entente still holding a significant lead.
Question for all pilots: who intends to purchase WOFF UE as soon as it comes out??
Chhers
H As long as its specs are not much too demanding.. I got yet some difficult WOFF. Generally speaking, I would like to have it.

Supposedly the performance is actually improved with UE - more offloading of processing from the main CPU to the graphics card (I suppose that means you need a decent graphics card to get the improvement). I already started as an 2 seater pilot on German site. me too. But I'm not scoring any points or keeping track of # missions flown. Just flying the same mission dates as everyone else. H
