I recommend stacking missions at Sothis instead of Ceos.

I did start off for a long time at Ceos until I notice Sothis have 4 factions offering missions instead of the 3 at Ceos.

2 of the factions at Sothis can generate smuggling missions whereas the other 2 (the Fed aligned faction included) never ever seem to generate any smuggling contracts.

Most of these smuggling missions will require you to jump into Ceos before they update you with details of your delivery port. However, some of these smuggling missions will have you deliver to Newdawn Station at Ceos (just one jump away from Sothis) and usually these contracts are 5 to 10 million CR per at very reasonable cargo space.

Just be aware that if you are planning to haul contraband in Open, I can sometimes be parked at Newdawn cargo scanning new arrivals just for kicks. That has certainly ruin the payday for a few Commanders because they thought it was a cop scan that can be interrupted by deploying hardpoints.

Speaking of printing money, I spoke with Kazius on TS a couple nights ago and his preferred method of printing money is hauling out of Maia. I think he said that it took too long for him to stack missions from Ceos/Sothis. He was getting 24 unit Meta Alloy contracts for 10+ million CR each

My experience with Maia is that they do generate a fairly large stack of hauling missions and although each of these are very reasonable in terms of cargo space, they do not pay as much as Ceos/Sothis but this was before I I got Elite Trade rank and to be fair my reputation rating with the factions at Maia is still not as high as I like.

Are these missions like the old Robigo runs? ie constant interdictions and trying to avoid scans etc? I did a few of those in the past but found they didn't suit my gameplay.

I haven't had time to play for a few weeks and I am currently about 1k out from Colonia heading for the Core. The plan was to decide at the core whether to head back to the bubble or continue on to Beagles Point. I had intended on getting back to the bubble or at least Colonia before 2.2 launched as I don't want to meet Thargoids in my unarmed Asp.

Thargoids ? No such thing. A bunch of BS told by old grannies smile

I get interdicted on the average 1 to 2 times in a 400+ Ly trip back to the bubble from Ceos/Sothis. I hardly get scanned, if ever. Most scans occur near the mail slot entrance to stations and those are easily avoided by being efficient with your ingress. I will say an average of 0 to 1 scan on the return leg of the trip. Bear in mind, most missions at Ceos/Sothis is for legal haulage and so concerns about ship scans and cop stops is moot.

That's a pretty low interdiction rate compared to some of the stories I heard with folks doing Robigo Runs.

I think that has to do with the number of missions you stack at Ceos/Sothis compared to Robigo.

Ceos/Sothis generate long haul missions where you carry 8 to 140+ units of cargo per mission. Usually I go for missions with 8 to 40+ tons of cargo and this translates to about 4 to 6 missions in order to fill up my Asp.

AI interdiction, despite their increased aggression in 2.1, is childishly easy to evade. If interdictions are bothering you, you are doing something wrong.

Funny you mention Maia.
Just parked the TradaConda there and logged off for - hopefully - some flying tomorrow.
Learned about this place during the CG. Made way more money outbound then in.

Maia had quite a few big cargo missions when I was last out there, most offering some high pay.

I had flown out in a small ship, so I couldn't accept any. I only had room for the few Meta-Alloys I bought there.

It would appear that there is some BGS turmoil ongoing there and no one was in "Boom."
Still worth the trip but it ain't a gold mine. Perhaps I was there on a bad day...

When is this 2.2 update coming out? I'm tired of waiting and haven't been able to pirate anyone since Engineers was released...

I'd guess sometime next week. There's a beta wrap up party this weekend, plus I think all the current Community Goals appear to end by next week?
