Shadow Warrior 2 has been received with very favorable reviews on release today. And developers sent out review copies ahead of release. Basically anybody with a review channel had a review of this early.
First one was a lot of fun, and this one is too for the most part. A bit gimmicky to me (Borderlands influence on enemies, loot drops, and weapon customization). Runs really well for me.
Has 4 player Coop for the full campaign, and has some randomization on the level layouts for replayability.
Say what you want, but when there is a bad release on PC, it is usually associated with a bad port from games developed mainly for the consoles.
One day maybe, consoles will have the same specs as PCs....and they will be called friggin' PCs!!... and all will be well.

Not my type of game, but great (!) to see someone still can get it right! And setting a good example for the whole industry.
But then again, CD Projekt Red got it extremely right, and still the big publishers didn't even blink. They are above and beyond learning valuable lessons, it seems.

Why men throw their lives away attacking an armed Witcher... I'll never know. Something wrong with my face?

Coincidentally, this development studio is also based on Poland.

Almost 3 years later and still "early access". Bad games are just that--bad games. Doesn't matter about having multiple platform releases, although that does multiply the complexity. Even then, it's largely a matter of opinion and often the opinion of people who don't even own the game.

Bad game is not equal to a bad PC release. A game can be great, but if it marred in technical issues, it will be shot down on release. With time it may become a classic once it is fixed/ modded, but by then the publisher has written it off as a loss if there are bad initial sales.

I think they did a disservice to Mafia and Mafia 2. Illusion Softworks/2Kczech made good games. Its one thing to be edgy but I find the premise for Mafia 3 quite suspect. Maybe I'll like it, I don't know but I probably will not get it until it goes on sale and is very cheap.

Don't buy it expecting a classic gangster experience like Mafia 2, reminiscent of The Godfather or Goodfellas. I think that was clear back when it was announced and the game described. Get it if you enjoy the Far Cry/GTA type game, set in New Orleans. Conduct missions to take over an area, kill the boss of that area, then on to the next. It doesn't have the Mafia atmosphere, but still a fun open world game if taken on its own merits and asked for a variety of approaches to the mission, unlike the previous game. Just keep in mind it isn't so much Mafia focused, it's more of a revenge game. Also it isn't very difficult. I'm enjoying it and don't regret paying full price, since I knew what to expect. Still, it's an opportunity missed to give us another nostalgic gangster game.

I did not want to say anything until I tried out a friend's copy.
Now that I did, I will say "Don't buy it."
Buggy steaming pile of manure.
I do have Far Cry 4 and GTA 5 and play those a lot, especially the latter. I don't think I will even consider Mafia 3 anywhere remotely a respectable surrogate for someone looking for Far Cry/GTA type game.
