In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But in practice, there is.

Thanks for the link to your pics. I remember the first time I saw a WWI airplane, a scout of some kind, and was surprised at how tiny it was. This was back in the mid 80’s when I was stationed in England and visited RAF Duxford. At that time, I was more interested in WWII and didn’t fully appreciate it.

I assume you're talking about a real WWI plane. The ones I was looking at were 3/4 scale replicas...and really tiny!

I believe that many of the Brit/French planes were full sized; at least the ones from Airdrome Aeroplanes. One of the SPADs was obviously smaller than the other and one of the Nieuports as well. The Fokkers made by AA are 3/4 scale.

The plans built planes could be all over the place of course.

I went two years ago and, while there were more planes there, many were still kit built for obvious reasons. I'm not sure where you would find a large amount of originals outside of NZ. Maybe Rheinbeck? I've never been.
