And Mach I+ gimbal looks the same mechanism used today, only this switch(?) ahead mechanical trim is different. Apple version looks more R/C gimbal. That's where it all started for Chuck

What's with the 7-pin DIN on that Mach I pictured above, though? That's no IBM PC joystick, and it certainly isn't any other joystick interface I know of! That is a damn good question! I don't know what to make of that. I do remember that the original IBM PC did not come with a game port... you had to add one via an expansion board. In my case (An IBM PC2 MB), it was an AST Six pack card that added the game, serial and parallel ports, a real time clock / calendar and room for 384K of DRAM chips so that the total DRAM could be brought up to a whopping 640K. There are other entries for CH Products Mach 1 sticks, and their pictures show standard game port plugs. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-MACH-I-J...N-/272224124649 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-MACH-I-J...N-/252560140252

I can't recall if I ever owned that stick, but I know I used one at some point.
I'm scratching my head on that connector, too. Did they ever make these sticks for other systems? The box says IBM PC, but perhaps that box doesn't match the stick and it's for an Amiga or something?

The joystick interface I believe predates IBM PCs... not sure, 'cos I wasn't around back then But for what I get from watching retro videos on YT, that's a pretty common joystick interface back in the Commodore and before era.

I had a Tandy 1000 with that port. Let me google around... Had a couple of Kraft sticks like this. I had the Intel 8088 4.77MHz . The one pictured is a TX which had a 80286. The case looked exactly the same. Shows the inside of the Kraft stick... https://www.pololu.com/docs/0J59/all
