Apart from a brief moment SimHQ was down all day yesterday, and that may be the reason why recent posts disappeared. At least one days worth of posts are missing due to the server outage and possibly as many as three days worth of posts depending on the forum it seems. Three days went awol?: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/4299707#Post4299707Sometimes I can find things in Google cache but even it isn't finding things this time around. Wheels

When Atari became the owners of EAW they did not have the source code which I have been told was accidentally destroyed by the previous owners. At that time they still had a number of installation CDs available for sale via their website. The code group had a late version of the code, and on our behalf Nate organised an agreement with Monsieur Frederic Chesnais (the head of Atari at that time) which allowed us to modify the code and release patches at no cost. This enabled them to sell their remaining CDs to people needing an EAW installation that could be upgraded to the latest "1.28" version available. I do not recall that the SimHQ EAW forum members were mentioned as being party to that agreement. When the structure of Atari changed the new head seemed to be unaware of the agreement, but they effectively extended it. The text of the extension agreement is what is available from Roy's site. A couple of years ago Atari sold a heap of stuff to Thommo.inc, including EAW, so Atari no longer own EAW. Therefore the agreements may well be null and void. The new owners' plan was to release a Steam version of EAW, and they contacted me about the possibility of releasing a version with our code in it. We said "No" because our work had ben done by hobbyists for no monetary gain. They then approached me about getting 1.2 working, as they were getting errors, which I guess included the dreaded 7217, and the "EAW will not run under NT" problems. I suggested that they try the d3dwindower, and/or a glidewrapper. The response was that it was against their policy to make a release for Steam which required the purchaser to use third party software in order to get their product working. I have heard no more since their last communication with me over two years ago, and they have not released a Steam version of EAW. Consequently, we must presume that they have given up on the idea. EAW is no longer available for purchase anywhere other than on sites such as Amazon at ridiculous "collectors issue" prices. Jel

Neal, I don't think you can attach a file in a post, at least not here. You know I'm still interested in getting those files from you, but Maybe you can make an account at mediafire: www.mediafire.comand upload your files there, so we can get them? About your tool, I believe Knegel used them back in the day to shrink the hit bubbles in his Realistic Patch (RP's) and the modern source modified game also has reduced Hit bubbles, which personally I find too small, I can't seem to collide into an enemy plane anymore, even with collision on.

I wrote it for Knegel, and he knows how to use it. It evolved as we learned more and more about the values from the source code. Some unused but available values have been put to good use, and some values which were never referenced in source code routines, and therefore never used, have been utilised in the newer exes. However, that was done by the users, not the writer, so I cannot help in terms of providing a manual. Most modellers who needed them have copies to suit their needs

The Performences should fit rather good to historical sources, but in many cases no exact datas are available, or different datas of the same planetype.
The gunranges also got adjusted!
This will be the final Realismpatch!! Althought there will be still some mistakes, i dont have time(money) left! Of course if there is a rich sponsor out there......... \:D
Now only singleplanes will follow step by step!!(Quality work better in slow steps ;\) ).
Have fun! Despite Ralf says this is the last one, I can't find any mention of RP1, but there was a EAWrp2.6!
Supports EAW 1.29.exe, Drop in and Play Technology. 1.29 download
