I wish they would put out an app for smart TVs. CW isn't in HD on DirecTV here.

Arrow, Flash, Legends, Supergirl....the DC shows are fun, you get FULL seasons and they crossover. Even my wife loves them.

To date, there is not a single show on the CW that I've ever seen. I'm not their target demographic. If you've never watched a show, you wouldn't know.

If you've never watched a show, you wouldn't know. Reading a short summary on the premise and subject matter of the CW shows on IMDB is enough for me to know. For whatever reason I can enjoy watching superhero/comic book movies but for tv shows I just don't have an interest.

I've been watching Legends of Tomorrow but I'm borderline on it. I have tried to watch the others and I've just not connected with them. Saw some of Supergirl last night, actually, while I was on the phone with Kuala Lampur and it just looked dull.
There is something about the CW's DC shows that unites them in tone or affect or something, and it leaves me flat. I'm not sure what it is. Too small maybe? Like I'm watching something that could be done as a play aside from the special effects? I really can't articulate it better than that.
On the flip side, I've enjoyed DC's Gotham on Fox and Marvel's Agents of Shield and Agent Carter on ABC. Their tone is totally different. Maybe having a larger budget works for them. Maybe these comic book shows need a minimum budget to pull it off. I never watched or cared about Smallville, but I did watch the Adventures of Lois and Clark and Superboy back in the 80s/90s and thought they were ok.

The TV series have a lot more time to do character development and back stories, etc. Arrow, Flash, Daredevil and Agents of Shield have all been pretty entertaining, IMO, and have all spent time on fleshing out things more than a movie could. I can certainly understand not wanting to watch such a show one week at a time. But with entire seasons available for binge watching, you can forego the wait in between episodes.

I avoided them all, thinking they were like Smallville and for a younger crowd. These shows have a broader appeal IMO. I finally gave Arrow a shot after hearing a lot of good things about it. Plus it was on Netflix. I quickly got hooked on it. The way they work on the backstory along with the current story makes it pretty exciting to watch. Flash starts in Arrow's 3rd or 4th season, so once I got to that point, I started watching them in order that they aired, alternating. It's really good that way. Even when there isn't a direct crossover there are mentions and carryovers between the cities and they talk about the other characters. Watching in order, alternating arrow then flash as they aired that way, the stories keep building on themselves. Then add in Legends and the Supergirl crossover. That was touched on in a Flash episode when he pops in and out, having run the Supergirl episode in that fraction of a second. LOL

That's the way I watched ST:TNG and DS9, alternating. Also SG-1 and SG Atlantis, which had occasional crossovers as well.
