Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty. This is known as "bad luck.” -Robert Heinlein

All I can say is that I'm so glad I was not an adult in the 70's. Those jumpsuits are the worst! lol
I also laughed at the two guys wearing the Key Lime pie suits.

The funny thing is that the fashion world really tried to push those coveralls as something other than what one wears to work on cars - and they never took off.
I never saw anyone wearing a fashionable onesy EVER growing up.
Hell, it was all jeans, shirts, and Dingo boots for men. Maybe slacks, which ran the risk of the infamous white belt.
The opinions of this poster are largely based on facts and portray a possible version of the actual events. More dumb stuff at http://www.darts-page.comFrom Laser: "The forum is the place where combat (real time) flight simulator fans come to play turn based strategy combat."

What,,,no pictures of ladies in their undies and lingerie.

I'm sad to say I had a few of those! Everyone had those denim shirts with the cowboy patch things on the shoulders (the shirt is white in there, but blue denim was more common). I have a school picture in kindergarten wearing a very similar red/white striped outfit the elementary school kid has on. Big belt and all. My Grandad wore the jumpsuit, but that was working his cattle etc. Work clothes, but certainly not "prisoner orange."
The JCPenny and Sears big catalogs were a big deal! We made our Christmas lists out of there, pouring over the pages for months. They hardly changed from year to year it seemed.

Having been in high school in the mid '70s, I had some things in my wardrobe that make me cringe when I see old pictures. That era definitely spawned some questionable fashion choices.

Wasn't the Sear Christmas catalog called the "Wishbook?" That sounds vaguely familiar. We'd do the same thing - pick up our back to school clothes from the fall catalogs and our Christmas lists from the Christmas one.

Nope, this was the Fall Guy. Lee Majors, or has he's known here, Steve Austin - the Six Million Dollar Man. This was a staple for me in elementary school!

Oh yes...incredible. The toys in the Wish Book blew anything else out of the water. I think ours was drool encrusted by the mid-December between my brother, my sister, and I!

The dude from The Fall Guy right? David is right. It DOES look like Howie from The Fall Guy! I kept looking at that picture thinking he looked familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Oh, and Jack, the '70s were a time when women were too 'liberated' to wear undies and lingerie. Ah, those were the days...

Me and my brother and sisters used to fight over who's turn it was to look at the wish book catalog. I remember my Mom hiding it when we got out of hand. We used to bookmark the pages and make notes on what we wanted. We never had much money, so we only got a few of the things we wanted. My Dad would always get an extra job (like he didn't already work enough) during the holidays to pay for the stuff we wanted out of that book. Model and remote control cars, slot race car tracks, bikes, electric football games, Atari games, chemistry sets, telescopes, twist hockey games, etc. .... Great memories.
