I may or may not

I sometimes see Coot or other members playing a game I would not mind reaching out to. As an example I see Coot is playing Deus Ex Human Revolution as am I. As well I just noticed there will another Deus Ex game released soon.

Might make for some fun banter

The only time I visit a Steam forum is if I have some kind of serious issue/bug with a game and I need to find solutions for it. I've been on Steam since 2004 but I've rarely posted in the forums.

Same PM, but I might take advantage of a Steam forum here at SimHQ

edit: I edited the title in an attempt to be a little more clear

Why a "Steam" forum? Unless you are having problems with the Steam program itself, I really don't see the point. If you are playing Deus Ex and want to discuss it or banter about it, post it in the CH or Tactical forums; other people who play the game will see it, others who might've missed the game may get interested and play it, and so on.

Same issue for example if someone bought the DTG Flight School game.... why post in a Steam forum when he can post in the more relevant Civil Aviation forum?

Not a forum here, but there is already a Steam Group for SimHQ.com. Has a discussion area and other sections. It has existed for quite a while.

I'm a member of the SimHQ Group but I always tend to feel isolated. I usually pm chat with Steam friends. Are we talking a live chat space to discuss games or a forum here? If we had a Steam forum I'd be in there a lot as I'm always poking around Steam either playing my several hundred games or viewing the Greenlight stuff.

bisher you can contact me any time. I don't multiplayer much though I'd like to. Its just hard to find the right folks and a workable time and game. I would love to try getting some multiplayer going on some older games. I have Battlefield 3/4 but I hate Origin and my connection is always horrible in B4 for some reason. I barely have any time in it because I'm always disconnected. Anymore that kind of game is just too fast paced and noisy for me. I think it'd be fun to try to get some oldie but goodie games going in mp if they are still supported. Maybe Red Orchestra or Splinter Cell coop or even older stuff. My Steam connection is always better for some reason plus I've been on it for 11 years so I'm pretty comfortable with it.

I've tried the group forum on there, but I know no one checks it. It's a little convoluted to even find, I doubt most know its there.
I post screenshots that I think the group can see, we sometimes get discussions about games that way.

I think the issue is that the SimHQ Steam group is a bit redundant. We already discuss screenshots and games on the website. The only advantage I see with the Steam group is to make it easy for SimHQ members to meet up for multiplayer sessions.

I haven't tried steam yet but I do Linux.

I'd rather see a Linux related game forum here.

Linux and gaming will be taking out exponentially in a few years since Linux is the OS of the future.

I really wish that was true but I'm having difficulty accepting that.

I was dabbling with various distros a while back and at least for me,with the range of games I was playing,it was a non-starter. Windows and Android dominate the market still.I can't see that ever changing.

We'll see about that. I have severe doubts that will happen. I can see "budget" games going to Linux but not your high profile AAA titles.
