We're gonna need a bigger pan. LOL You could probably feed a small village for a few days with that halibut.

Wow! I had no idea either. Wonder if it's still good to eat at that size? Some fish are, some aren't. Might as well eat it now, it's dead. LOL

Definitely. It would be a massive waste of food not to eat it. A halibut that big could probably stock a Red Lobster restaurant for a couple of weeks!

That's my pet, Eric. I picked him out of thousands. I didn't like the others, they were all too flat. I have a license for him.

Somehow it doesn't seem right to keep a fish like that. The fish should get some kind of reward for getting to be as big as that... the meat is probably rubbery anyway...

Halibut make the best fish and chips you could ever imagine. Matter of opinion I guess. My personal preference is cod. Some folks prefer haddock or plaice

Since then larger fish have been caught there, currently the largest recorded halibut is 314kg (692lbs) caught off Norway by a commercial fishing boat
Wow. I have no idea what the daily caloric requirements would have been for that halibut but it must have been massive.

Wow. I have no idea what the daily caloric requirements would have been for that halibut but it must have been massive. Probably much, much less than a similarly-sized sized warm blooded animal, because being cold blooded fish don't metabolize nutrients to maintain a body temperature. All they need is enough to supply energy for biological processes (such as respiration, reproduction, and excretion), brain activity, muscle use, etc.
