Pictures will be up hopefully sometime Sunday or Monday depending on RL of course as I usually take around 1500-2000 pictures when I go. I am going tomorrow morning and will be there for the night show of course. Any photos will be at this link below. And of course some of last years photos are below as well. It's a co-owned page by me and my mother who is also going as she is an aviation nut still even at 60 just like her almost 40 year old son. Also since I am not going till tomorrow any requests? I will be a busy person as I am also meeting up with some of the EAA main people who help put up and setup the webcam streams but I will try to get pics of something specific if I can.

I believe unfortunately they are in a different area at EAA. Last year they had them in the Vintage area and that is up front by the museum and I am not sure if I will get up that way. But I will put it on the list and see if I can get anything for you. As I also love those WWI fighters. If I do I will try to get as many of each plane including close ups. I am taking all my Canon DSLR stuff along with my Canon point and shoot stuff and 4 32gb cards and extra batteries so the quality should be ok..I hope! It should since a few of mine have made into magazines the last few years!

Sorry no WWI photographs. They flew early in the morning and I never got the chance to get up there. I didn't even get a chance to get over to the Warbirds area. The stuff I got yesterday was only during the airshows. Normally I am able to get stuff from all over the place but I ended up with Sun Poisoning and yeah was not feeling good and still not. Sorry Dart I will try next year to get it just remind me!

Dart, I didn't get to go up there this year, but I went the last few, and am pretty sure I have some pictures of WW1 stuff. I'll check when I get home, and put up what I have.

I feel bad because I couldn't get them for him nor could I get the stuff for JimK as well that he was looking for. I live only oh just under 2 hours from there so I go every year but only for a day. I am trying to find someone I know with a camper with a/c so I can go every other day and if I want come home one day even. That way I can split it up into sections instead of all in one day. You know as well as I do 24_Fan trying to do that entire place in one day isn't gonna happen.

Yes, it's a big place it's hard to cover it all, and it's especially hard to get good pictures if you don't get there right at opening, otherwise there are too many people in front of the planes. I also know all too well about the heat up there, this was a picture that was printed in the paper up there of me and my brother relaxing under a DC3 wing.

Sorry Dart, I don't have much in the way of WW1 planes, they never really caught my eye while taking pictures, always been more of a WW2 plane guy. I did find a couple pictures including one of the planes that someone was in the process of building, I hope they help, or you just enjoy what you see.

Worse part for me is being physically disabled from a rare genetic syndrome that has caused 82 surgeries to my name and not even 40 till November makes it even harder. So I have to load up a scooter, plus my camera equipment plus a small cooler w/ water & Gatorade for the day. I am really going to try for that camper though next year. There is a campground really close to the airshow entrance called Sleepy Hollow Campgrounds and they always have room plus power/water as well. Plus you can camp right next to the camper for a small fee so if that happens I'll let you guys know. More aviation geeks the better!

Here you go in case you missed the Pearl Harbor re-enactment. Has not changed much since when
I first saw it in 1974. Was the greatest thing I had ever seen at age 14.

Ooh, I know two of those planes personally!

That's Robert Baslee's SE5a, which is a helluva thing, really. One has to be a rivet counting type to spot the "problems" but for 25K (15 for the airframe kit, and figure 10K for the big VW engine with redrive) it can't be beat. I got to see its debut at Gardner two years ago - what a beast.

And Russ Turner's Camel is an amazing example of what can be done with Robert's kits. The darned thing is gorgeous and the attention to detail in getting it as close to the original in appearance is amazing.

I can't wait to see Russ' next one, which will have a built-as-new rotary Gnome engine in the front. Only Russ would take a 15K airframe and put an 85K engine on the front of it.
