Ok, so what did we deduce from all this drinking..err..sorry..TESTING?
That we´re a pair of tossers who shouldn´t be allowed out into the community is what we decided biggrin

Conclusion. If we want to use FlatOut then we may have to use the retail version with FlatOutNet as the connection app.

Don´t go buying it yet though, I can sense you straining at the leash. Just chill for 24 hours wink

More testing with Hamachi tomorrow.
Wait out.

*Update*
Been messing with Hamachi for a while...it´s waaay to much editing of this and that involved And it´s only for 5 people, aftr that it´s payware. And, tbh, I really don´t understand it.So, bin it biggrin .

Looks like the next job is to *aquire* Flat Out, the old retail version.
Sit tight, hang loose.I shall keep you up to date.

*anyone seen me fag papers?, I had em a minute ago ffs!*

Fatman and I got BF1942 and DC installed and tested today. Found plenty of really empty servers to have fun on.
As mentioned, we can offer our teamspeak server for use as it has 250 slots and no issues with lag as Stewie and Fatman tested today talking to me in Australia all the way from Europe.

As far as I can tell, all we have left to do is nail down a time and make some Battlefield nonsense happen.

I'm GMT +10 so your Euro evenings are my early next mornings which means Saturday or Sunday mornings my time would be possible otherwise my afternoons/evenings are your mornings for mid-week gaming with the semi-retired :P

Yep, no discernible lag. Mind you, I couldn´t get a word in edgeways and do you HAVE to speak with that foreign accent? biggrin
Just kidding smile
Back in the day we used to have some lag probs but I think that, with the interweb being fibre optical these days, it´s a lot quicker.

Well, because of the probs with FlatOut ( a possible solution on it´s way) it´s kinda narrowed down to Bf42+DC Final. SO lets make it happen.

Bono, I didn´t bookmark your server, can you PM details, please? Or Phil? Whoever s awake.

But, just to re-iterate, we´ll jump on the SimHQ server to start with, but we have yours as a great back up if we find we need to do Amin type stuff. Thanks guys.

I´ll bang a game thread up, see wháppen.

little known fact, ive never played bf1942 before frown

Turns out I have BF1942, must'a been from when I bought that big box of games from that english guy who buggered off to New Zealand.

I got the FO installed on my GOG library, but needs tweaking. It doesn't handle multiple controllers biggrin and looks bad when it's stretched across 3 screens.

http://www.moddb.com/mods/desert-combat
Halfway down the page is a window, "Files"
Get the Desert Combat 0.7 patch, and get the Desert Combat 0.7 to Final Update patch.
Here are the direct links...
Desert Combat 0.7
Desert Combat 0.7 to Final
Alternatively, look at post 1 in this thread biggrin

Aight J.
Bf 1942: Just a thought, it might be better to DL the BF 1842 from the lins. It might already be patched up. Might. Doc, did you patch your manually or was already at 1.61?
Anyways J, snag those patches linked in the post above, mate.
Well, they´re not patches really, more 2 parts of the Desert Combat mod. After installing, you´ll have a helmet icon on your desktop. That´s the shortcut. It can also be activated within Bf1942. Go to Custom Games tab in game. Or it might be the Community tab. One of the two anyway.

Hang fire on Flat Out for now. problems getting it to work in multi play, unless you know a solution?

Bannerman, yeas, you should see bf42 games online. it´s still played. Do a Refresh then a Update at the servers tab
1.61 is the correct version.

I´ll chill on SimHQ TS server, while surfing, from 7 ish onwards. Just in case you need info.
(That´s 17:00 GMT, 18:00 UK, 19:00 EU biggrin )

BTW, I didn´t say thanks to you for spending two hours with me the other night trying to get flat out working. Cheers bro. thumbsup
