The F-5E was developed by Northrop Corporation in early 1970s. The light tactical fighter is an upgraded version based on previous F-5A developments. The F-5s' combat role encompasses air superiority, ground support, and ground attack. Given its mission flexibility, ease of operation, and low cost, the Tiger II has, and continues to server, air forces across the globe.
The F-5E is armed with two 20-mm M39-A3 cannons with 280 rounds per each cannon. The cannons are located in the nose section, forward of the cockpit. Special deflectors are used to avoid compressor stall conditions caused by hot gas ingestion as a bi-product of operating the M-39-A3. Each cannon is capable of firing at a rate of 1500 to 1700 rounds per minute.
Each wingtip incorporates a launcher rail capable of firing AIM-9 infrared-guided missiles.
Five hard points (one centerline pylon and four underwing pylons) allow the aircraft to carry different types of air-to-ground weapons (bombs, cluster munitions, and rockets) 6,400 pounds (about 3000 kg) in total. In addition, illumination ammunition and cargo containers can be attached. To increase flight duration and range, external fuel tanks can be attached to three hard points (a centerline pylon and two inboard pylons). Maneuverability and speed can be maximized in combat by jettisoning all external stores.

Another mediocre aircraft, in my opinion, that has been announced and released, well "beta", while other products sit gathering dust on the to-do list. Hey, how about using your resources on finishing what has already been "released" and paid for? Just a suggestion, maybe that would go a long way to eliminate a LOT of the bad feelings and may actually increase sales. I won't be buying.

Wags October 2017 "the investment vs. generated revenue has been excellent for the World War II aircraft. In fact, the P-51D Mustang has twice the cost effectiveness of the A-10C Warthog."

I really like the F-5 as an aircraft, but I will pass for now. I won't be buying another Alpha/Beta/Early Access or whatever they wanna call it this time, at full price, minus campaigns, manuals etc.
I'll wait for the discounts, and I might even actually wait for the product to be released and out of beta in 3-4 years, and then wait for the discounts.
There are many great, finished and working simulators / modules to keep me busy in the meantime, stuff that I paid for, stuff that I didn't have to pay for, but most of all, stuff that was delivered in a reasonable amount of time. I don't need to sponsor another project.

Officially the UH-1 is not beta anymore, but I totally agree, it's missing some fundamental stuff so in practice it is still a beta. I do hope the F-5 will be finished for real, and soon. Not just by slapping a "release" sticker onto it. I'll be glad to get it when this happens

Lol, yeah, They are both Not Finished,
But the reasons the remaining systems and features aren't integrated yet on those 2 modules is not applicable to the F-5E.
The F-5E for the Most part is complete, only a few missing systems, and A bunch of Tweaking needed to the model, PFM, some existing systems, and the AIM-9P5's.

I can see the problem with this mindset immediately! 'Mostly complete' followed by a list of items including missing systems and tweaks in all major areas that make it nowhere near complete. I have a phone for sale. Immaculate condition, the only issue is that the screen is cracked.  Spot the irony?

You sound pretty certain of that, care to elaborate? the Mi-8 and UH-1H both have a different reason for being still Early Access. And what are they? They've been in "early access" for how long now? How many years? Meanwhile the folk who spent money on those early access products have watched BST release 3 more products while the 2 helicopters remain early access. C'mon Skate explain why if you're so knowledgeable. Explain why the customers of those 2 products are not getting value for their money. Explain why you think the customers of the F5 are going to get value for their money. I bought the huey, why is it still early access after so very long?
