My friend who has the same CPU/GPU as mine and complains of stutters sent me this screenshot of CPUID Hardware Monitor running in the background while he was playing a campaign mission. (unmodded WOFF 3 patch 3.9)

Jasta 7

Eswars Airfield
escort mission (4 DFWs) to front

All four cores were maxed out while the video was only half utilized. No tweaking can fix stutters due to CPU.

Anyone else can confirm these results?

I am not at my gaming PC this week, but I'll report when I get home.

Well right off the bat I would think something else has to be running because WOFF only uses 1 core. I will try it out tomorrow though. I've got a 6700K now too.

I would reccommend to check running processes (via Windows default Resource monitor).

The only time I see numbers like that is when running Freemake Video converter which runs all processors at max. You could also try Process Lasso which I use all the time.

WOFF doesn't use 4 cores but PCs and the zillion other things they do can do. Check background processes, other installed apps, AV scanners, auto updating apps, and other monitoring apps (like Adobe software and others have various running tasks and services apart to check things, Windows update, and the list goes on).
Hidden Spyware / virus can also do things in the background of course. One AV is not enough to say a PC is "clean".

Ok. Thanks. I'll mention that to him.

Can someone post a snapshot of HWMonitor showing that WOFF is running on one core (above 80% - see below for example) without assigning affinity to it so that I can send him that pic?

core0 - 25%
core2 - 15%
core4 - 80%
core6 - 25%

Is this is what you want, screenshot

screenshot2

Sorry did read it wrong, I'm using affinity but cfs3.exe on core1,2&3 and priority on high. The rest even Woff.exe on core0.

100% load on that system something is wrong.
Check his system on virusses malaware etc, something is wrong here.
Use TM to determine what is going on.

Dutch, I can't find the HWMonitor in those links.

I have never seen how a single core game should look inside a hardware monitoring program in order to have a factual reference.

Anyone with a CPU monitoring program can post an image of CPU core usage while flying WOFF (remember to have no affinity). This will be sufficient to show him.

Hi below are my screen captures. (no affinity set)
I had to take pictures with a camera as, you cannot take screen shots.
As soon as you alt-tab to take a shot, WOFF suspends and CPU activity goes to zero.

In the above shot, noticing that 100% max is being show, this is quite probably if multiple flights have been run.
Each time a flight is made a different CPU is used and it will be used to the maximum.

Only CPU's 0, 2, 4, and 6 are show = Is hyper threading turned off?
I found turning of HT is a performance hit for WOFF.

Thanks, Stache. After a long phone call with him, it turns out that he had bad PC virus infection which corrupted some games, drivers and windows services causing memory leaks and high CPU usage and random program CTDs.

Oldhat if you took a close look to the screen shots that I did posted you would have noticed that I'm using A monitoring software that shows the actual CPU GPU RaM at the ODS. This piece of software is Afterburner and very usefull to determine what is going on.

Glad you have solved it, yep useally this is a virus that is causing troubles, but that was also posted.
