If it works OK (maybe Hellshade would be a good tester with his super fast system ;)) then let me know I'll upload it to our website User mod pages I built my system designed around the idea that I'm impatient to fly WOFF 3. You can't win the war just waiting around, lads. And I would love to test it! Please send me a copy!

Thanks, Creaghorn. I'll post my loading time later today, but this will be great. This wasn't a problem for me until I upgraded to an SSD last month...couldn't believe the improvement in load times for everything. Thanks for bringing this up, Hellshade

@Hellshade
How many seconds is your loading time with your rig? I mean not the very first load but from the second on?
All others please chime in. I need an average loading time.
Thanks
Cheers I will check later tonight sir and post the time from the second load. Thank you.

Cool. I will time mine just out of curiousity now. My system has a 30 GB SSD that it uses as a "cache" to speed load times though WOFF itself is on a regular HD. "Second load"? Do you also find Hellshade that all load times after the first are faster?
EDIT: And is a campaign or QC the benchmark? Never do QC. I will guess the sound file is still played?

Cheers 15sec works perfectly for my rig - i3 3.7Ghz, 16gb DDR4 2600, GTX950, Samsung EVO SSD 500gb. The file plays right up to the airfield appearing. H

Yes, the first load always takes longest. If you time the sound file to the first load of a campaign mission, you might easily still have start engine sounds running into the beginning of the mission on every mission after the first.

Hi,
For another point of reference - I too, very reluctantly, had turned off the menu music.
With the music on... From clicking the Go To field button. About 17 - 18 seconds to sitting in the plane cockpit. About 33 seconds until I no longer hear the Contact - Engine starting sounds.
Tested under campaign - times were not from the first time.
Harry I will PM you also.
Thanks.

On my system the mod from Harry is looking good. The contact/engine sounds stop just as the Cockpit screen is appearing. Again - this is on the second load of a campaign mission. Thanks Harry - Nice to have the menu sound on again.

Sorry Harry, I was able to download and install the mod but my lovely girlfriend monopolized me for the rest of the evening so I didn't get to try it. I'm excited to do so though and she works evenings tonight so I am looking forward to giving your fine mod a go. Staches' results sound encouraging! Ah, priorities OK have fun tonite & let me know. If all is good I'll package it up and send it over to Pol. H

HarryH, I've tested it and it seems to work just fine. My experience was the same as Stache's. Excellent. Thanks Banjoman! H

HarryH, sounds to me like you are a modder now. I guess I officially am! It's nice to give back even a small thing to my favorite sim / community! H

Hi,
Sorry to resurrect this thread...
Is this mod available? I looked on the current mods page and could not locate it. Perhaps just let me know the name of the file(s) and I could look it myself.
Thank you.
** found the files.... they are "INTRO" files in campaigns/CampaignData/ShellMusic Different files for different nationalities and engine types.

I have made a set that are 15sec each (half the length of the originals). I put fade ins and fade outs on them so they play back smoothly. They seem to work in-game. I'm not a modder, but if anyone knows how to package them up I can provide a Google Drive link to the edited files, Just let me know!
H Hi Harry, I just stumbled on this thread and I will take you up on your offer. PM me with the link and I will see if I can make it a JSGME self extracting mod which Sandbagger could put up on his mods page. You of course will be the owner and get the credit if I can make it work. Best Regards
