I had to repair my computer( MB and CPU replacement). FSX was not uninstalled. When I attempted to start it up, said I had to activate. Put in my #'s- failed, went to phone activation, gave #'s on act screen, nice man sai it was no a M$ product. Directed me to a M$ web site- no help.
Any ideas / work around???

I think you should get FSX Steam Edition. It's currently on sale, it's better than old, boxed version of FSX (lot's of improvements) and requires no activations. Just install and play.

I agree with Cheyenne. I had FSX deluxe boxed edition and upgraded to FSX:SE which is truly more stable and works with all my original add-on aircraft. Steam also brings other advantages... I picked up my Steam copy early for $5 and haven't looked back.

If you don't want to buy something you already own, a quick google search will turn up the replacement DLL that resolves that whole stupid "activation" thing.

My 2006 FSX disc still activated in 2015. But I do wonder if that'll work on my next computer around 2017...
