Why the hell aren’t Viking Skull or Texas Hippie Coalition superstars? That sh1t is TIGHT! thumbsup

They probably didn't want to tour is my guess?

Viking Skull did tour UK quite alot as support band- they are an offshoot of Raging Speedhorn, 2 of the band, the merch guy and the guitar tech iirc

but yeah, there's some great bands out there but it's really hard nowadays to make the jump to the scale of touring to make money

Not as hard as some songs posted, but it picks up and gets going about a minute in...

I'd never heard this song before Destructis posted it on one of my 80's music threads, will always remind me of him. A really good motivational song, IMO.

The rusty wire that holds the cork that keeps the anger in
Gives way and suddenly it’s day again
The sun is in the east
Even though the day is done
Two suns in the sunset, hmph
Could be the human race is run

Not a MM fan, but this one song and live performance with the trombone always gets my blood going in a good way.

Never heard the T-bone version of Beautiful People...but it kicks ass!

I'm also not a huge MM fan, but that's one I dig a lot.

Here are my entries for tonight...

Speaking of TOOL, if you’re at all into wine and you’re also interested in what makes Maynard James Keenan “tick”, I highly recommend the film “Blood into Wine”. ( http://www.bloodintowine.com/ )

Changing the subject, since it’s the first day of summer here, I’m gunna post this great live performance from a couple of summers ago here in Toronto that IMO could be classified as hard rock. (more like punk blues or garage rock but pretty hard)
Gotta love the ladies in summer dresses, am I right people?! bananadance

I think I’ll also post this HD Alter Bridge concert. Although I don’t hear a lot from them up here in Canada, I think they’re a really talented band (basically the members of Creed (ya, I know) but with Miles Kennedy replacing Scott Stapp) ...

Classic! Sounds like hard rock was basically invented and refined in the late 60’s, early 70’s.

Here’s another good example ... Steppenwolf’s Born to be Wild (1968) ...

Probably best used in the “Easy Rider” (1969) soundtrack. smile ...

“Easy Rider” was my nickname during the summer of ‘84 at my summer job. I was trying to show off by cornering my motorcycle into the parking lot too fast and I hit a puddle and wiped out. biggrin A co-worker couldn't stop laughing and called me "Easy Rider" from then on out. biggrin I ripped my jeans open and everything.

Nice listen. I especially enjoyed Judas Priest and Humble Pie, watching the live concert I was going 'Wow, that's so cool, how come I've never seen that before.' lol

Ouch Linebacker! smile

Steppenwolf Ahhhh now I do love listening to them, and loved playing Born to be Wild in the band.

We were just shrugging off the likes of the Beatles and music was starting to get interesting, well at least for me smile
