Probably shouldn't be surprising. I think ED have always had trouble with the definition of 'beta'. What stands out from this release candidate (which is always a good milestone it should be said) is that on the very same announcement comes a caveat which states that; Although the module is now feature complete, we will of course continue to tune the aircraft and fix any bugs that may arise Isn't a beta feature complete anyway? What therefore determines the move from alpha to beta? Aren't ED/Belsimtek still releasing a beta if it is still undergoing tuning and bug-fixing?........either that or they've just announced their release candidate still isn't actually finished.

which is why ED has changed the terminology to "Early Access".

Has anyone else noticed that the F-86 rudder (bug?), when looked at from outside moves opposite of the way that you are turning? BadBud Thats probably how it works in real life and not a bug considering ED's stringent quality control

The whole alpha/beta/RC/early access/gold/release nomenclature has been pretty much rendered obsolete. It's now not usable/playable but lacking/finished but needing lots of work/finished needing some work/no longer in development.

All Future Modules will be:
Early Access (Not Feature Complete) Released (All Planned Features Functional)
There's been alot of change from DCS 1.2.9->1.2.16, and Significant Changes from 1.2.16 to 1.5.0 -> 1.5.3, many of those helped flesh out the remaining F-86F Features.
Beta Schmeta Etc is Done for modules.
DCS Branches will remain DCS Release / Stable, DCS Open Beta, DCS Open Alpha.
Most Patches will Hit Open Beta to ensure no breaking bugs before going to release.

People just want to be told "you can buy this as of X date and it will not be missing anything and everything will be perfect and you'll only see cosmetic changes after that". If they don't want to deal with bugs, they can wait till X, if they want it now, they can get it and deal with them.
The fact that it's not a realistic expectation anymore doesn't alter their feelings.

Why's the airbrake toggle gone? I've just come back to the Sabre after quite a while of absence from it, and now it doesn't recognize the TM Warthog airbrake switch moving back into neutral, like it'd done from release until at least the day I stopped playing it.
Come on BST, we're used to you not finishing modules. Do you have to start actively breaking them as well? Its not BSTs fault some patches have erased the settings for button maps on the HOTAS in the past so we had to remap everything so go to the options menu and you'll have to remap the buttons.

For years, going back to the "old Mig alley" ( I think that is close to the title) I wanted to fly the F-86F. In my youth I was assigned close to the 51st FIW, and 16 FIS. We tought the pilots survival and rescued a few that "got wet" in the South China Sea. Some were old hands from WW2 and Korea. During 1957 to 58 they flew F86D ( the dog" ). Conversations with them were wonderfull.
It is sad that as I soon hit the 80 year mark I stil can not relive that great era.
WOFF lets me fly lots of WW1 "kites" which is the best flight sim so far ( IMHI )!
