Will get active in this soon...did some free fly prior to the weekend.
Been busy...very busy and enjoying life again...weekending the grand kids was so much fun. On lunch leave from a barn building. I'm overseeing the Amish men for a friend... I like the Amish, good thing as they've been the primary influx to fill the rural area I live in. Even landed a few more lawn mowing jobs.
Will get in stick time and post.....just busy and glad to have most of my spark plugs firing again.
Great stories and video's Gents. Del Que had a wonderful 1st mission and scored on 3. The second mission he stole a kill from one of the Spad jockeys and shot him down right in front of him. He was so pissed at debrief he said he didn't see a thing? Here is the highlight of the second scrap.
Never approach a bull from the front, a horse from the rear or a fool from either end. BOC Member since....I can't remember!

Sorry to hear that Stache, it was a great run! Make sure you fill out the survey with your final results. I'll probably be mostly incommunicado for the next day or so, I think I caught MudWasp's malady over the interwebs... My stomach has been getting grimmer and grimmer all day. Carry on the good fight in my absence...
The older I get, the more I realize I don't need to be Han, Luke or Leia. I'm just happy to be rebel scum...
30 May 1917 @ 05h00 Patrol our lines between Havrincourt wood and point west parallel to Pronville aerodrome.
At briefing we were informed that we would encounter scattered cumulus from 2000 to 6000 ft. with winds of 3 kn from the NW. Recent reports from the front indicate that the Hun has been patrolling the area with two seater craft.
Parsons lead the flight with Dolan, Marr, Lovell, Haviland, myself, St. Pierre and Saubiran in tow. We formed up NW of the field attaining an altitude of 11000 ft and then headed NE towards Havrincourt wood. St. Pierre and myself being the only two in the flight with N17’s fell extremely far behind and were soon on our own. I continued on and approaching Havrincourt I could see 8 specs in the distance milling around just above the lines. As we came closer I noted one of the craft smoking and being closely chased by what turned out to be three of our SPAD’s. Two other SPAD were about a thousand feet below us and coming fast in our direction, chasing a DFW C.V.
I joined the fray as did St Pierre closely following. I made al pass on the DFW coming down on his six, raking him from the observers position forward. Circling around I made another pass and noticed the observer hanging over the side of his craft badly wounded or dead. The prop of the two seater had stopped spinning and he was going down smoking. I pulled out, looked around and decided to head for home. Upon arrival at Ham, I put in a claim for the DFW which St. Pierre confirmed. Marr and Lovell were off to the aid station with light wounds. Their buses and Haviland’s required 2 days repair. Parsons and Dolan did not return. We headed to the mess for some hot tea and biscuits. A day later confirmation came it on the claim. A report also came in that Dolan was in a front line aid station with Light Wounds incurred when he crashed his craft. Parsons was also picked up but died in the aid station from his wounds. Both craft were destroyed. I now have 4 Huns to my credit.

AND SOMETIMES, YOU CAN STEAL KILLS FROM YOUR "AI" BRETHREN IT SEEMS!! I was pleasantly surprised when the claim form was offered to me on this one even though it was evident that one of my flight members could be seen chasing the DFW down after I disengaged.

This is my first post on the forums - been lurking a little while.
Just wanted to say that all of these stories emerging are great to read so great work guys!
As a historical note - Banjoman - Mr George Cadbury was a Quaker so would indeed be pretty irritated at one of his sons fighting in the war (although he did support the Friends Ambulance Unit, an unarmed medical unit that would help anyone). I must admit I am deeply amused by your choice of pilot as George Cadbury was my Great great Grandfather and its not often you get to read alternate histories of your own family!
As I said, all the posts are great! Keep up the good work!
So far so good, 9 kills, and 10 days with the very nice nurses patching me up the best the could. Next mission I have a spad After a promotion and medal.
So far the ground fire has been about normal but the "rear gunners" have been either out of ammo or being very accurate. I lost 2 of my 6 pilots last mission to rear gunners of "hamms".
Origin made- silverstone case,ASUS Max VI Extreme , CPU intel Core i7 4770k, cooling asotex 570LC, NVIDA 3G GTX 780 Ti , Mem 16GB Kingston Hyper X DDR3 ,game drive 120GB INTEL X25 SS, OS drive 1TB, Win 7 home Prem.Logitech G105 key board,BenQ XL2430 Gaming Monitor. All pilots owe me a beer. Retired USAF Rescue/Survival, Special Forces, and MI (after I got old and grey).
I went off with B flight on the second of the days mission a Security Patrol to the lines and back. Departing at 0722 hrs into a heavy cloud covered sky the Esc 10 a/c climbed to 10000ft. The Patrol became widely separated. In between clouds and almost on the deck , I spotted a Spad being chased by 3 Scouts. My wing-man and I let down , they re-positioned, we coiled, they broke off the contact. I had missed the fight entirely. The score. 1 Albatross D-III destroyed for 1 Spad lost+3 lt damage. Not a good party.
James Franco Mission #4 30 May 1917 The mission was to attack airfield Gonnelieu. B flight of 8 was covered by A flight of 4. Encountered a flight of 5 D.IIIs en route to target.
2 enemies latched on to James while rest took on the other members. James quickly lost sight of his wingman while dealing with the Albatrosen. Finally one decided to go home after receiving a few holes. The other fought all the way to the deck where he crash-landed after his engine was knocked out. James caught up with the other DIII just south of Gonnelieu.
Brought him down and returned home in time for lunch. Both kills were confirmed the next day. His wingman also was credited with one German.
"Take the cylinder out of my kidneys, The connecting rod out of my brain, my brain, From out of my arse take the camshaft, And assemble the engine again."
Thanks MFair. It's hard to make a bad screenshot with WOFF 3.

Thanks for the vid Nietzsche, well done! Some high scored coming in folks, cudos! Fullofit, I agree with MFair, nice screenies!
The continuing exploits of Rdney Dangerfield:
8 Jun 1917 @ 07h00 Patrol enemy lines north of Fismes
Thenault lead Marr, Lovell, Parsons, Lufbery, myself, St. Pierre and Saubiran on an interesting jaunt along the lines today. We had 3 kn winds from the SW with High cirrus well above 15000 ft. We formed up just north of the field and when we had attained 11200 ft Thenault lead us east following the course of the Aisne river. We passed Crony approaching the lines with all quiet and great visibility. The only thing hampering the run was the fact that the SPADs left us behind. Way behind. By the time we reached the lines they were nothing but specs in the distance. St. Pierre and I were again on our own playing catch-up. We lost them when we reached the lines so I set a course to follow it half way to Guignicourt at which point I hoped we would catch them on the return and join up.
As we ran parallel to Saint-Mard aerodrome, I spotted some specs heading west parallel to us. I suspected they were heading for the aerodrom. I lead St Pierre into a wide arc to come up behind the oncoming craft. Three had already gone past us by this time. Scanning the skies for any further interlopers and not seeing any, we swung in behind the spec which soon turned into an Albatros DIII. I gained on his six and when sufficiently close unleashed four volleys into his fuselage but he kept on flying. I gave him three more volleys and he finally went down. I swung back east climbing for altitude and was soon presented with another quarry oblivious to my presence. I again swung onto his six gaining ground. He too took seven volleys before his craft broke up and went down. Again I turned east climbing for altitude and then swung south west heading for Mont de Soissons Ferme. St. Pierre landed before I did. The rest of “B” flight was already on the field. St. Pierre vouched for my two claims and they were confirmed two days later. We discovered that “B” flight had run into it with a flight of DIII’s, and Thenault, Marr, Lovell and Lufbery all had suffered light wounds and destroyed their crafts in setting down. Only Parsons and Saubiran got back without injuries but had sustained 2 days worth of repairs. Lufbery, St. Pierre and Saubiran each claimed a DIII.
