flying in my FE2 in the '16 Did, my gunner turned at a target coming up from behind, which was good, but it turned out to be 4 E3's,, and while I repeatedly got on a 6, he wouldn't revise his aim and shoot at the target right there in front of him. I targeted, I used the attack command, I made sure I was nearly level, and yet he wouldn't look forward and shoot, dang it. What's the deal with that? aside from getting a single seater with my own finger on the trigger...

I feel your pain LoftyC. Did you try jumping into the observer's seat and firing and then switching out? I've had that work for me in the past.

I wonder if he was fixated on another target! Was there anything directly in front of his point of view?

Perhaps in his AI mind he was targeting the highest threat?
The ones behind with the nose pointed towards him whereas the one in front was perceived as much, much, less of a threat?

I did also published a notification on this Front gunner behaviour, in this forum, because he only acts as defensive AI and not offensive. Historically, the Fee was also used as offensive hunter, so I still hope this will be fixed. Besides fixing the forcefeedback to its original CFS3 state as #1 fix, the refuse to shoot front gunner is my #2
Same you will have noticed on the Moranes back gunner, btw.

And yeah I did not made an hars maneuver and no there was no other target for this gunman and we did not even have an koffie break, just trying to survive.
