It may not be like the original GR but it does peak my interest.

Sure looks pretty damn cool... kinda funny because when I was in the 80's Army as a MP, we deployed to Honduras for 6 months, are job as MP's were to escort Blackhawk and Chinook helicopters into the deep jungles of Honduras and surrounding Nations not allowed to say, we would pull perimeter on the resting helicopters make shift landing zones while groups of 4 to 6 men with no marking or insignia would disappear for hours at a time, sometimes (3 times for me), we would hear distant explosions, and an hour or so later they would come running out of the jungle, yelling to crank it up, get on board... we quickly would and disappear.

Never knew who they were, what they did...etc etc, but we did get medals for drug enforcement operations after our return stateside.

Makes you wonder, lol... like I said looks like a great game, my only concern is the greed of companies like Ubisoft, and I expect to see this turning from a military tactical operation game to a clown show game with stupid skins. wink

Must've been a Clear and Present Danger out there they had to take care of!
Wouldn't be surprised if that book was based on real operations like that.

Very cool! My time in the Army '95-03 is filled with similar stories but I will save those for another day. biggrin

As for the game it does look like a very cool concept. Open-world, 4-player drop in drop out Co-op, tackle the mission any way you want. I have already made peace in the fact that Ubi will milk it with DLC "skins" like they are doing with R6S. On the positive side is that if you and your 3 friends decide not to sport the Ultra Rad Hot Pink Heart Camo on your guns you don't have to! Real gameplay will be shown at E3 in June so it will be nice to see the interface/UI and the game running live versus these trailers.

Why wouldn't Ubi not milk it with DLCs? It's a business! They don't make games primarily not to entertain you but to sell a product and make a profit out of it.

The game looks very nice and interesting. Certainly on my list of games to purchase.

I don't mind dlc, hell...look at the witcher 3, now that's some dlc... I'm just against shooters going from military themed to clown themed because of greed.

Oh I understand that it is a business first but Like Magnum already said, I don't mind games that have DLC if the DLC fits within the context of the game/gameworld. IMO it just doesn't make any sense for a game Dev to go on record stating that they have created one of the most realistic shooters based upon real-world blah blah blah only to have DLC that enables you to look like this. Just because it's a business doesn't mean you have to make boneheaded decisions. It kinda goes against what you are trying to portray in the first place. Why not sell real weapon camo patterns or avatar customization that make a little more sense? I think that if the devs were to keep the DLC relevant to the game at hand they would sell a lot more DLC.

I agree, that DLC for Rainbow 6 is stupid and ridiculous! The GR game does look great, but hope they make it more realistic although it's probably not going to happen.

That looks more like a DLC for Payday 2 than Rainbow 6. Masks and cartoon colored guns.
