Better than the first, but still, it doesn't feel like Star Trek.
PS: Is that the NX-01?

Better than the last trailer. I still wish they'd treat the ship better. They haven't made it one of the cast in the new movies, it's just a vehicle. However, the movie doesn't look bad. I enjoyed the other two despite their shortcomings. Whether or not it's a theater experience or wait for home depends on what else releases that month. We usually just do one a month. It's nice having slightly older kids, we used to just see one movie every year or two at the theater. LOL

It's really difficult to make the ship a character when it is played as a glorified beer brewery on a submarine, hauled by a bridge designed by Apple.
TRUE. They really couldn't decide on a look, could they? Way over the top bridge, barely clean brewery engine room. That looks way too big for what you see on the outside. That and the ship gets its ass kicked every movie. I thought they had shields?

I find it interesting how the movie poster copied the style from the poster for Star Trek: The Motion Picture.
“Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you.”
Probably a really great sci-fi action/thriller movie, that I WILL see....but it's not Star Trek
It's akin to the James Bond flicks. All were trying to emulate the original until the one's with Craig. Different and good.
We gotta get over the old Star Trek. The original is dead: Roddenberry, Spock, Scottie, McCoy too. Sulu is gay, and Kirk is as huge as the Enterprise. Different time, different place.
The new cast is pretty good imho. Just wish they'd quit making Scottie (Chief Engineer of a Star Ship) look like a buffoon.
When I saw trailer #1, just the heavy metal music was out of place.
Guess Abrams and the new makers of Star Trek have forgotten the vision that guided Roddenberry and turned the Original Series into a legacy that inspired so many generations since: Live Long and Prosper
They have forgotten the Live Long part and are only interested in and Prosper

Respectfully disagree. ..Craig's 007 IMO is much closer to original than Brosnan or Moore

The originals were special because of the thought provoking story lines. The fact that Kirk is old and fat and Sulu is queer don't enter into it. TNG with Picard had great story lines too. This stuff just uses the Trek name to market "fast & furious" in space ships.
Don't get me wrong ..I'll go to see it , as will millions of others, but it is NOT Star Trek by any stretch.
I was there when the Original series was new, read most of the books, stuck with it through all the animated stuff, movies and spin offs. I personally think they did a pretty darn good job on the latest movies in spite of the alternate universe crap.

Let's face it, audiences change over time and more often than not, well established franchises have to adapt to that.
