And the PC Master Race crowd on the forums and Reddit are not happy about it one but. Apparently us console peasants that can barely eat without dribbling all over ourselves are too stupid to play it properly, plus we only want PVP and that is not very good.
One day the West will fall. But if the Liberty for which we fight is taken up by the world then the West will not have failed.

It will be interesting to see how the controls (the shortcuts for weapons/perks etc) adapt to a controller. Or does the game already have that now? It's been a long time since I played. I'd rather use a controller to be honest, other than being able to set up a macro for a sequence of actions with the shortcuts on my mouse.

They published videos on the new UI for Consoles,
But the Console Versions are so far different than the PC Version, at least the tutorial missions are, but i ran the PC tutorial years ago, so things prolly changed on the PC as well.
Now, When You interact w/ a NPC, they are brought up on the screen similar to the Elder Scrolls Games (NPC On on side of the screen Interaction/Dialog on the other). Last time I Checked the PC Version simply had the Dialog Popup w/ a picture of the NPC.
The "Abilities" are set on 4 specific buttons, but holding a button down will bring up a radial menu w/ all abilities on them.
Seeing as it was free and smaller than most of the other free games (15 ish GB), I downloaded it at 250 Mb/sec.
I got a bunch of Free Promotional Items for Linking my Arc Games account (Free Ship, Free Items etc).

If the devs do a good job this should work fine on console. Elite Dangerous is a game that most people play with HOTAS, but it was cheap on XB1 recently in a sale and I bought it there to play on the couch, and surprisingly the control scheme work well on the controller with combos of A X Y B buttons and D-Pad (i.e. X+down for landing gear, X+right for right console etc). I've enjoyed using the controller on XB1 for Elite so much that I converted to using it on the PC version too instead of my X-52 since it means I can play it more often without having to get out the HOTAS. So Star Trek Online could easily be well playable on console if they devs support button combos for the controls like Elite does. I'll definitely give it a try.

My CH Pro Throttle finally crapped out on me today after 15 years of excellent service. I thought about getting another but the cost of the Pro Throttle is the same as the entire X52 Pro HOTAS. I only fly Elite and the helos on Arma3 at the moment, and so do not really need a Warthog or anything stupidly expensive. Incidentally, are you guys up for coop when Spacehulk Deathwing is out in November ? I'm really looking forward to that one. I hope they don't screw it up

I still like my X52, still works great and isn't too expensive.
Not much difference between the X-52 and X-52Pro other than color and feel, functionally the same, so if you see a large price difference between the two it might not be worth it.
Yeah I'm definitely picking up Deathwing if the reviews say it's good, love WH40k and I'm really hoping they don't mess it up but WH40k games can be so hit or miss.

I ordered the X-56 Rhino. It cost about the same as the X-52 Pro from my neck of the woods and has a slew of features and ergonomics identical to my CH Pro and which I consider essential for Elite D. According to the spacesim and joystick nut below the X56 is about the best HOTAS out there for Elite Dangerous at this moment :- https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzp-YPgck3WdsFQRCmoDvMQ/videosI guess the difference between what this guy's reviews and the legion of others on the tube is that he seems to know his stuff and does not appear to be talking a bunch of unqualified crap. I pre-ordered Deathwing yesterday. I never pre-order games. Its just an irrational thing to do to IMO but I am irrationally hoping like hell that this game will be good and not suck because I really want a proper modern FPS rendition of the Spacehulk franchise. Somehow I got a nagging feeling that I might be disappointed. There's a lot of A-lister games out there today that are not worth the hype that preceded their release.
