Oh my ! A real flier. I am most impressed and envious.
Anything you'd like to tell us about flying the Mig ?

The MiG was a blast to fly with it's single stage AB (when someone else was paying for the gas). It's been a few years but it had no range at all - you were always a fuel emergency looking for a place to land. Going cross country was a pain because you had to recharge the braking system after every landing. Flying it was a dream in pitch- very balanced controls but going from the Su-26 to the -17 it always felt sloooow in the roooolll.
There will be nothing more satisfying in my life than doing a 450 knot pass 20 feet off the runway with the FAA watching.
I sold the MiG and bought a 20m glider, I REALLY enjoyed the fuel burn on the glider...

You owned the Mig-17 ? You imported the Mi-2 ?
Goodness; you must have some serious money.

I flew this Huey (B-205A++) fighting fires for a few years. This was a fire in Clear AK, just Southwest of Fairbanks. Fountain Forestry had hired a Huey and crew from Norway to dust the forests around Caithness as the acid rain at the time was wrecking the growth. The crew was staying at our hotel and they invited me to come along on one of their dusting trips. ( oops that was a really loud bang I heard here, rattled the windows and doors and it didn't sound like a sonic boom, dogs are barking too... F-16 just came out the clouds and flew over, maybe it was a sonic boom) I arrived at their base of operations in the middle of the forest to find the engine covers off and parts spread around ah well they showed me over the aircraft but sadly no flight, I did have to go and pick up some parts that were flown in to repair the aircraft but now they were so behind that they didn't have time to go sight seeing with me That was my memory of a flight in a Huey

I've been planning to do a B-17 ride this year, but since I lost my job a few weeks ago I probably should not. But I did just sell some property and will have my house paid off soon so maybe I will go ahead. It is on my bucket list for sure.

I can top all y'all. I have been in a T-41 and given a very nice flight at low level. It's a Cessna 172 as owned by the USAF. The definition of a warbird is any aircraft owned by a military. So a J-3 Cub is just a Cub, but when in uniform is an L-4 and a warbird.
The opinions of this poster are largely based on facts and portray a possible version of the actual events. More dumb stuff at http://www.darts-page.comFrom Laser: "The forum is the place where combat (real time) flight simulator fans come to play turn based strategy combat."
