Hi all, I'm really trying to enjoy my purchase. There's really no doubt the game looks good. Unfortunately the gameplay leaves a lot to be desired. It doesn't help when my joystick isn't fully implemented. I have a warthog combo plus rudder pedals. I've noticed they are way too sensitive and bouncy. When trying to adjust them in game I noticed all axis are sticking, stick, rudder and throttle, before they reaches the top and bottom of the scale, a little release of pressure and they unstick. I've played with sensitivity but that only makes the problem worse. I thought it may be my stick, throttle and yaw but they works perfectly with DCS and every other flight game I have. The problem is most definitely with BoS. Is this a known issue and is there a fix for this? If so I'd dearly like to hear about it. Right now the game is unplayable

I've struggled with sensitivity with my Logi G940 as well. Minor stick touches result in plane motion that seems exaggerated. I'd almost say, given the minor flight surface deflections I see, that it's a physics problem (as opposed to "the FMs suck").
It's like the planes do not have the same mass and inertia an airplane weighing thousands of pounds traveling through the air at hundreds of kilometers an hour should have. Is the value of g incorrect? I have the same issue in ROF, but I was a little more accepting of it in a wood-and-fabric plane than in a stressed metal contraption.
Move the stick 1/2 inch in Il-2 or CloD and the plane's nose moves a lot less than it does in ROF or BoS. I get into PIO far too easily in these trying to point my nose at a target to shoot, constantly above, below, left, right, rinse, repeat.

What I'm seeing is when I line up on a target and use little movements, due to the sticking issue and release of pressure releasing the sticking, the aircraft springs up/down/left/right depending on the original movement of the axis. e.g. I'm diving on a target I push my stick down and as I'm lining up on the target I'm slowing my angle of attack. because of the release of pressure the sticking stops and my aircraft lurches down putting my aim well below the target. Same thing will happen with roll and yaw, even my throttle is affected by this I've tried all axis and the same issue. It is nearly impossible to get a good shot on target. I don't want to learn to compensate for it because it only happens in BoS and learning to compensate for the poor performance in BoS will undoubtable affect to way I fly in other games.

This "wooble" is normal in the "realistic" BoS FM since day 0, more noticeable in BF109 F and G, the first released, in the later variants is less. Some call this "rubber band effect". BoS use 1:1 relation between joystick movements and game response, other flight games use some damper - to simulate G force? - then the culprit (accord the BDL) is you short desktop joystick. For this BoS offer the same solution of RoF - "AI-autopilot for level flight" - in any "realism" settings, although don't help in aiming. There's a long post in RoF forum - made by their FM engineer - explaining this. What can help is set custom joystick curves using external soft - contrary to RoF in BoS there's no this option, because will be "unfriendly" for new players. In you case can be done with TARGET.

1:1 relation? I don't think so. I can push any axis to its max and BoS doesn't reach the max point. One has to ease off reapply the pressure ease off reapply and then maybe it will reach the max point. Should the throttle suffer the same as pitch/roll/yaw with gforce? Can you point me in the direction of the RoF post you mentioned? I'm no real life aviator but something seems very wrong with this.

Is a post from Andrey «Petrovich» Solomykin - 777 engineer - explaining the logic behind implementation of joystick curves in ROF, but the link seems dead now: http://riseofflight.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=2564BTW - The 1:1 is in the sense that you move joystick 10% the game controls move 10%, move 70% the same etc. They claim that all other flight games did this wrong, they use the "correct way". If you move joystick 100% and game don't move 100% something is wrong in configurations, maybe deadzones...

Noise filter! I turned that to zero from the default 1 and now the full range is being used by the game. now onto TARGET

The Jedi Master Interesting, I have a HOTAS Warthog thrustmaster combo and I don't have this problem. Look at those vid, it is pretty stable: https://youtu.be/BCFncVHzcrUhttps://youtu.be/p2l2ZEIcV9Y

Of all the joysticks with this game the warthog is probably the most talked about and people having issues with it . Maybe the warthog was never tested . ..?? The response i got was a wide range of joysticks were tested The best joystick for this game is the CH-Produts , IMHO.
You could take out the main spring from the warthog . Try curves to stop the wobble go up to ......... pitch 90% 48% 16%
Roll 70% 20% 20%

Tried everything no joy, excuse the pun. I've even contemplated buying a new joystick but having purchased the warthog for no small cost I really don't see the point in spending more money to try and enjoy this game. I guess it's time to admit that this game is not for me. Maybe if they moved the focus from the eastern front I may re instal. Until then...

I just got a warthog too. I guess people are just extra picky when they pay this much I sure am People adviced me about an extender and to me it makes a lot of sense. Just takes to much force overcome the center tension should help a lot with the precision so I have big hope of it making it very close to perfection. The stick itself is absolute porn just need some less resistance and even smoother operation. Well I probably ain´t any less precise then my CH one problem was I compared to il 1946 which I ran last and it´s arcade compared to cliffs of dover, BOS and DCS P51. IL 1946 feels almost like war thunder now.

You want this: http://warthog-extensions-by-sahaj.com/I use 7.5 cm, a good compromise, as I fly DCS Jets and Elite Dangerous. It makes a world of difference.

I use the 7.5cm by Sahaj as well, and absolutely love it, made a big difference for me in flying helicopters in DCS. Have not tried it with BOS yet, may have to give that a try in the near future and see if it helps that wobbling effect.
