I'd go with a Lexus IS F Sport, but that's just me. Nice car though. I already have a Lexus GS 300 AWD: my 4th Lexus since the 90's, all 4 door sedan. I want a coupe or a convertible or a roadster for a change. Nice, I've driven both the GS and IS and I prefer the IS, but understand the desire for room.

Room ? In a convertible ? Losing the concept here.

Not to be negative or a downer, but on one of the car forums I visit, one of the guys is a certified BMW mechanic, and he recommends never buying a BMW out of warranty. He said that the recent models are plagued with issues, and all of them are very expensive to fix. The older models, like early 2000s, were much better, he says.
That said, that's a beautiful car, and a while back I considered buying a used coupe of that model that I saw someone selling, but wasn't thrilled with the color so I decided not to spend that much money on something that wasn't closer to what I wanted. Driving my second BMW Z4 now, first one was a E85 2.5si, now a E89 35i. Both were 2 years old when I bought them, had the first for 6 years, the second for 2 (and running). Only had to do the normal service and minor repairs in these 8 years.

I would not be afraid to check Carmax because they have a warranty program that can cover issues on some higher end cars that are out of factory warranty. http://jalopnik.com/the-6-coolest-unreliable-cars-you-can-get-with-a-carmax-1650270557 I'll just keep dreaming about a new MX-5 Miata. 16' Shelby Purple GT is currently being built as a turbo car. Black car on the hoist is a 95 cobra DD (342" blower E85 through a TKO-600) Makes a touch over 800hp to the tires. In the attached garage. Same cobra as before. Red car is a big inch windsor nitrous car, just a fun 5 second car. And the tow rig after it's first fill up (F350) I also have a diesel excursion (party bus!!) and work gives me a new 4x4 F150 as a company vehicle. You might say I'm a car guy, a ford guy, and that I have a problem lol.

6-Series are too big and heavy. Late-model BMW's are a maintenance nightmare in terms of the staggering costs of parts and the difficulty of working on them. The Bangle Butt kills the lines of the car. Get you a used, late model, low mileage Honda S2000. Some of the most fun I've ever had with my clothes on.

Sweet! Still, the RF's power targa top is sex on wheels. Oddly enough, I don't really like convertibles. I'm on my 2nd Miata, sold my 4wd Amigo soft top last year and once upon a time had a '77 Fiat Spyder. LOL They just tend to be fun to drive. The nice thing about super light sports cars is they're fun to drive even at the speed limit. Most cars I've had you had to drive like an ass to really enjoy it properly.
