The immersion factor of WOFF 3 is definitely raised by several notches.
In this clip alone I get to line up a guy using a working Aldis sight.
I get to very briefly see the back seat observer get killed, before the plane itself catches fire and spirals downward but doesn't exploded. Both are wonderful improvements to the DM / effects system WOFF 3 has.
Towards the end, the new DM shows itself again when I am able to shoot off just the top left wing of a crippled enemy aircraft, dooming the crew! It's awesome.
There are so many other cool things that, for $39.99, WOFF 3 is a steal.
Using Bucksnorts SweetFX settings on WOFF 3 yet? Those pics are very pretty. Think you mentioned you were going to try WOFF 3 without? Still the case? Was going to try them out this weekend (with WOFF 2) but the WOFF 3 bombshell has me all awry.
Trooper, I think for $39.99 WOFF 3 is well worth the cost. The damaged cockpits, ability to see see dead pilots and observers, new shaders, 3 new aircraft, lots of new Workshop options and more is well worth it. Not to mention high resolution skins now show bullet holes and the planes show structural failure due to combat damage! I can now tear off a wing if I'm good enough in stock WOFF! It certainly all adds to the thrill of flying.
I see some folks are having some install issues. I have been fortunate not to have any, however I always uninstall all mods and turn off anti-virus software, etc before doing patches and expansions.
Brilliant shots and videos,it' indeed does look really good @Hellshade,have you seen any difference in the Ai,does it seem tougher to beat, have you noticed them firing at you more often? Thanks in advance for any reply
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.
I haven't seen any screenshots of night time lights and other lights effects (trucks, buildings, street lamps) when the sun goes down. How do they look?
I might use them as well when I get around to updating my Airfields MOD.
@Adger - they do fire more and the near misses are nerve wracking because they ARE near enough that you know he's getting a bead on you. It's much better.
Hurray for Gunner Shooting Changes! My rear gunner now takes most reasonable shots on approaching enemy aircraft. Sometimes he hits. Sometimes he misses but he's never just wasting ammo. They all look like pretty reasonable opportunities to fire. Check him out in action.
