Hey,

Haven't been on much over the last few days. Was on the other night for a short bit, quite a bit later though, around 11 my time...

I wonder if we can experiment trying to build an electric shuttle between buildings via elevator bits, ala minecraft?

It's getting pretty carnivorous near the homestead. While building the new pen in the pitch blackness, a Carno stomped out of the woods at me. Thankfully, shotgun.

Took a flight up the river and lo, another alpha raptor awaits us on the right fork. Meanwhile, in that same general area, packs of Raptors cavort about... at least 4 of them.

And a level 4 Ovi female.

I accidentally chopped up an Ovi today while gathering supplies. Didn't even see her because of the foliage in my way and the rock I was hacking at with my hatchet. That sucked, but I really didn't see her. I only heard the smack! sound effect and a noise from her and then she was dead. Close to home, too, which would have been nice. Later, a level 38 female Ovi was right out our front door.

Things are getting pretty toothy around home.

Hmm, I guess that's 6 minutes away, but the server is up right now. If we log in and play, we shouldn't be affected.

Well, there's a new IP address, sadly.

85.190.153.117:31000
85.190.153.117:31001

I explored a lot this weekend and found a new cave. Fixed the Ghillie suit and headed NE to hang at the boat and farm drops and kill dinos. Found a composite pistol on a drop and a couple nice dino saddles. Headed back to the homestead with composites, cooked prime meat and other things onboard around 1000 ft. up and my client had a very rare complete crash.

Logging back in, I was falling off my ride and couldn't whistle in time and I free fell about 6 seconds to the earth and died, abandoning my bird.

So, I loaded the recent backup and it's at the stage where I hadn't fixed my Ghillie suit yet, so I took care of that, and found a GPS unit on a drop. Back to normal but with some lessons learned.

If it's raining outside, you will hydrate automatically, I figured out tonight. I hadn't noticed that before.

Dang that sux, I should be on tonight. Before you loaded a recent backup did you try to fly out and get the bird with one of our others? Heck if it was soondead 2.0 he may have survived in the wild for weeks...hes a beast.

I'm honestly surprised more people here don't play this. Particularly survival game enthusiasts.

Ok so a brief synopsis on breeding. So you set the 2 animals to wander and if they are close enough the female breeding meter will climb. Once the meter is full, an fertilized egg is produced. While the egg is at the proper temp it will proceed towards cracking. Once cracked the dino must be claimed and fed immediately. It must be hand fed til it reaches 10% of its max weight (?). At that point, a feeding trough can be used. Even with the trough it will burn through food til it matures. One estimate was the trough must be filled every 13 hours with meat (example). Starting stats are a random selection of stats from each parent.

Ah, good to know! So we won't have to coddle the little bastards for hours and hours on end. Though, I do believe when Mom is gestating, she will be quite hungry all the time, as well. Wondering if a trough in the nursery will be sufficient?

Found another assault rifle on a drop, which is better than the one we have.
Rex egg is incubated to the point that it will only take ~20 minutes or less to finish it.
Put a fridge in the Nursery and stocked it with raw meat and bumped the gas in the generator there.
Got a lot of new saddles.
Compy's are now laying eggs upstairs... have two eggs now.
There's a treat for @Feetwet in the Smithy.
Laniakea (aka Jeff) has wings.

Good day today. Gonna hatch an egg tomorrow and see how babysitting goes.

Apologies if you tried to log on last night or this morning. Snap and I tried our hands at breeding last night and needless to say, it was a disaster. In order to keep the baby alive today we had to bring the server down til I get home from work tonight. Roughly 4 central, it will go back up with hopefully no further interruptions.

Thats one of the reasons I stopped playing. In order to advance the game past where we were you need to start breeding your own dinosaurs and that takes like a hundred hours all in real time continuous. Guess the game isnt really designed for a small group like ours.
