Anybody watching this show? I finally gave it a look.. it is a great show! They did an AMAZING job of capturing 1970s N.Y.C. It is absolutely amazing.. I graduated from H.S. in the Bronx in 1973 ... This show has a few little things that only a native New Yorker in my generation or older would know.. but overall it has captured N.Y.C. in the 70s and 60s.. tuner

I'm a bit confused.

Is this a show about vinyl as in records, in which case am I supposed to take the fact that it's filmed in digital as either edgy or pretentious irony or is it about vinyl as in clothing, in which case I'm supposed to wonder why it's not on Cinemax and reserved for airing at two in the morning?

I'm pretty sure it's the former. Considering the recent retro-trend of people buying records again it doesn't surprise me that this show got made.

Bearcat: I have not watched it yet because I have heard so many "weird reviews". Is there some decent music along with the story ? Does it "preach" or is it just a chronicle of the 60s-70s era ? I'm sure I'd enjoy it if has some music and just "tells it like it was" smile

I too have watched this show and think its great. As a history of Rock n' Roll buff, the era and theme caught my attention. Of course, having Mick Jagger and Martin Scorsese as the producers also helped grab my attention. I love the story and how they tie in the all the artists. The Alice Cooper and Bowie episodes were some of my favorites. I kept asking myself though, how can you have a show about the 70's music scene in New York city and not have anything about Hilly Kristal and CBGB's, only to see the last episode where they hint at bring it all about. I'm guessing next season will have some Ramones, Clash, Pistols, Television and Talking Heads action, at least I hope so.

Its definitely a great show and touches on so many music genres. Music a side, its still a good story with great characters. Can't wait for next season!
