Enjoy!

American aircraft manufacturing (does anyone know plane type and ca. time?).
Note the stitching of canvas on the frame; and the very modern application of the roundels as self-adhesive foils!

Olham, I have seen this before. It is a great vid series! Good idea to repost for the newbies!

Too bad we don't have a historical archive thread where all these great pics and vids could reside.

Awesome stuff Olham...

It could be an American version of a Airco DH-4 called the Dayton-Wright DH-4 or an American version DH-9 called the Engineering Division USD-9. The give away are the 'handles' or skid rails under the lower wings. Not many production 2-seaters had them... but Curtis and Airco built planes did.

I realize your looking at them building an 'American' aircraft, but the Yanks really didn't add too many planes to the mix of WWI. It might be footage all mashed together from several sources to make a promotional series.

Here's what we added... many of which were variations of other planes already in service, or ones that never made it to service.
