NASA: "With strong visual quality and the unique room-scale tracking function, Lighthouse, the Vive was chosen by our lab for the first iteration of our system [hybrid reality].

This is probably the best comparison your going to see between the Vive and Rift systems. Tested is probably on of the most respected review sites on the internet. https://youtu.be/EBieKwa2ID0

One of the Tested guys even wore it incorrectly. People just don't get the fact that you need to the strap around the back of your head, for proper weight distribution. Not have it sit near the top of your head, then it gets uncomfortable. There's so much talk about comfort yet half the reviewers don't even adjust it properly. Still, that means a lot of industry folks are having issues figuring that out. Apparently the Rift is like putting on a baseball hat, which tells me more thought was put into that design. Fortunately, I'm only about 45 minutes away from a MS store that will be getting a Vive demo to try out, so I can see for myself if it's an issue

Yes...one of the Tested guys was having difficulty wearing his Vive headset properly. One of the other Tested guys, with more experience showed him how to properly wear the device awhile ago, long before the final consensus of the difference in comfort between the two headsets was established. Both units require proper fitting for the best result. There is no doubt that the Rift is better balanced, and therefore feels lighter than the Vive headset. Its easy to see just be looking at them that the Vive is far more front loaded and made from heavier material. There is no doubt that many people will be able to use their Vive for hours with no adverse effects, but the majority are likely to find the Rift more comfortable.
