Well I'm of Italian descent and I've eaten at Olive Garden, Sbarro's, Pizza Hut, and even Burger King's Italian Chicken.

As for pierogies, I prefer the potato ones although sometimes the cheese are ok. I don't go for any of the other ones. *shudder*

My preference for European cuisine is basically limited to southern Italy alone. Outside of that, I eat American food and occasionally a Japanese steakhouse.

my Dad's Mom came over from Poland, didn't speak a lick of English. I wasn't a fan of pierogi's but the home made kielbasa was the best. Was a place in Manchester NH that made both where my Dad was from and he'd bring it home. I actually went looking for it with my Mom but they had closed down many years ago and it's a regular meat market now. Boy the looks they gave me..

I grew up getting home made ones from my Aunt. My dads parents came over from Poland around 1900.

I can eat the frozen ones but they are a far cry from home made.

The sister of a Polish guy I knew cooked it and brought it into work for us to try, they called it Ruskie Pierogi, it was really nice, I didn't think much of the flacki though.

Bones mentioned Filipino food, my favourite of that is chicken or pork adobo, yum!

Ah, Clarion. My sister went to Indiana and I went to California...all in Pennsylvania:)

Cheese and potato with fried onions all slathered in butter...ahhhhhh. Growing up our church used to have regular fund-raising pierogi sales. Very popular. Mom made excellent ones, but everyone conceded my aunt was the 5-star pierogi maker.
