I use the THRUSTMASTER T.16000M stick, and I find it may be the best stick available
in this price category. But why on earth did they make this "green-light-district"
at the bottom? During night missions, it can be really disturbing!

Well, there is a quite simple solution: cut it off!
Here is how:

WIKIhow - Disable the green light on a Thrustmaster T.16000M Joystick

I did that, and it worked fine (and I am a Neanderthal man, when it comes to electric tricks!).

Olham, Thanks for the tip.

It's never bothered me... but I do not fly with lights out.
I skip that part of realism. smile2

I have been considering taking a look inside to see if I could move the wires from one or two of the base buttons to position on the stick itself.

Well, I guess as WW I pilots flying in open cockpits ANY time of year,
without oxygen even at the highest altitudes, and without parachutes to jump
from burning crates, we must have a very high level breaking point? banghead
