The plan for Easter Sunday was to make a relaxing bicycle tour at the shores of Lake Constance, with a visit or two at a beer garden. And an ice cream parlour.
Well, that was my plan anyhow... Turned out She_who_must_be_obeyed had a slightly different idea...

I'm still fuzzy on the details (probably 'cause I got kicked out of bed in the middle of the night) but there wasn't a lake. Nor a beer garden.

Well, there actually was a lake. Frozen. At 2.000m altitude. And the beer garden was the Wiesbadener Htte, 2443m. And a couple of hours away...

Walking on the frozen Silvretta barrier lake, Montafon region in Austria. The peak is the "Hohes Rad" at ~2.900m.

View towards the "Kleine Schattenspitze", ~2.800m. Our route would lead us up the vallery to the left.

Up that valley leads a path to the Rote Furka and the Silvretta or Saarbrcker Htte refuges

Southern face of the Hohe Rad

Piz Buin (3.312m) in the distance, right on the border between Switzerland and Austria. I've been wanting to climb that peak for years. But not with ice and snow. Maybe this summer...

Silvrettahorn (to the left) and Schattenspitze (both ~3.200m)

Aaaand finally, view from the Wiesbadener Htte yep

"...late afternoon the Air Tasking Order came in [and] we found the A-10 part and we said, "We are going where!? We are doing what!?"

Excellent pics as always Para.

The beer is missing from the last pic, Para!

But it looks gorgeous! Will the snow melt later in spring?

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the universe is for it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more inexplicable.
There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

Yes, but it will take until June until the snow is really gone at that altitude. Then it will look like this:

Sevenoaks, England.
You always show the most amazing scenery in your pictures, I'm envious.

That Farrow bloke you executed today, are you sure he's dead?
Well I chopped his head off, that usually does the trick.
Yes, don't get clever with me Baldrick. I just thought you might have lopped off a leg or something by mistake.
No, the thing I chopped off had a nose.
